Chinese Banker Assaults Japanese Store Clerk In Japan
A Shanghai bank worker and his wife are suspected of assaulting a convenience store clerk in Hokkaido and have been arrested by Japanese police. According to a police statement, the clerk used hand signals to indicate that the wife “take a hike” because she began eating ice cream in the store before paying for it. The bank worker wasn’t able to handle his wife being insulted, so he assaulted the clerk. Netizens responded that beating up foreigners in foreign countries pleasures them to no end, as they get the same cushy treatments that foreigners in China get. One person said only one word, “lowly”.

He’s probably used to it in China because he (think) he’s rich.

    • David

Well, with any luck he can have a few months in jail to think about it.

      • Drone

I agree, but he should get a year or two. Assault is assault. Hopefully, he’ll lose his job as well. After serving time, he can return to the Peep’s Republic and tell everyone how horrible the Japanese devils are. It’s all their fault, after all.

  • hahaha!
i do not understand why people must eat before pay in supermarket !

“Netizens responded that beating up foreigners in foreign countries pleasures them to no end, as they get the same cushy treatments that foreigners in China get.”

    That makes no sense whatsoever.

    • hypebeast88

Ive reread that sentence three times but it still makes no sense anyway you look at it lol

    • guest

Maybe better than Chinese in their jails, but I am betting foreigners in Japanese jails are treated better than them.

Guessing there was some sarcasm to it.

      • Drone

Hmm… I guess that what they meant was that they wouldn’t mind beating Japanese people outside of China because imprisonment in those countries wouldn’t be as harsh as back home. If so, then they are deluded. If anything, it would most likely be the other way around; here, in China, they would probably not go to prison at all, and instead, simply negotiate some sort of payoff (unless the attacked was very seriously injured, and even then…).

    • KoHan

Actual translation: Beating up a native in a foreign country will not get you the same cushy treatment that a foreigner [who beats up Chinese] gets in China.

  • lacompacida

I am sure they welcome the free room and board they will receive, in jail. Hope they will serve their sentences in China, and not in Japan.

    • Jahar

      Yeah that’s not gonna happen.

  • Boxed_Sushi

Is the husband afraid of his wife, or does he just spoil her to no end? How pathetic of him to defend his wife’s misdoings.

  • KenjiAd

I’m not trying to defend the Chinese husband, but as a Japanese guy living in China, this incident doesn’t surprise me.

The vast majority of Chinese people are friendly, at least not hostile, to Japanese people in China.

With that clearly stated, a problem would occur when a Chinese person felt s/he was looked down on by a Japanese guy. “Humiliation” by a Japanese guy could provoke a seriously negative reaction from the Chinese person. Maybe the way this clerk gestured was taken as insult to their nationality.

Again, I’m not defending him at all. But I just wanted to tell that his over-reaction is not unusual. Two cents.

    • James

yes maybe they are both at fault as is usually the case

    • Danny

If that is the case, then Chinese have a severely inferiority complex towards Japanese.

      • KamikaziPilot

They do but they’ll never admit it. After all they’re all “proud” of being Chinese.

        • James

no they don’t, they just hate them like arabs hate the jews

          • Alex Dương

Arab-Jewish relations were never “perfect,” but during WWII, many North African Arabs helped save Jews. Hate got a lot worse after 1948.

          • KamikaziPilot

Will you at least admit they have an inferiority complex towards whites then? Not all of them of course but an unhealthy number of them.

          • A Gawd Dang Mongolian

I think it’s more an unhealthy obsession. It’s less “I don’t like them, but I want to be like them.” and more “I will be like them. Whatever it takes.”

          • A Gawd Dang Mongolian

            “What. Ever. It. Takes”

          • KamikaziPilot

Eh, if you’re referring to the Japanese you may have a decent argument but when it comes to whites I’ve seen too many instances of preferential treatment to call it anything but an inferiority complex.

          • James

yes perhaps, but not japanese, they look down on japanese or see them as equals.

  • Karze

This banker must know how business work. One has to pay before you consume it. Its not a restaurant where you eat and pay.

  • Karze

This kind of attitude is filthy behaviour of Chinese officials and filthy rich people.

  • DC

the store clerk clearly has zero customer service skills…but I guess hailing from a village in Hokkaido he probably still doesn’t quite know how to mask his racist bias..
