Recently, whenever a large Chinese company experiences public relations problems, its competitors will take advantage of the situation and use it as a chance to advertise, a phenomenon which is becoming more and more common. Last week, Ctrip, one of the largest travel agencies in China, experienced server problems that affected service on their website and app. Ali Travel was one of the first to make a post commenting on Ctrip’s crash, saying that Ctrip’s customers could temporarily use their service until Ctrip was back up.
