Comments from NetEase:
The largest toll station of the world is in China! It’s not on the highways, it not on the state lines, but at the lower-half bodies of women. The Family Planning Commission has established a toll station at every woman’s lower-half body, so as soon as a woman gets pregnant, her child must pass the toll station, and if she pays, the child will be allowed to come out, but if she doesn’t pay, then the child will not be allowed to come out.
This driver is SB.
It was such a cold day,
When he was cold,
He could just find a female passenger,
Screw her a little bit,
Wouldn’t he be warm then?
Going to jail is ultimately better than freezing to death.

According to Shanxi Highway Regulations, vehicles carrying dangerous articles and buses over 7 seats are forbidden to pass from 8pm to 6am the next day. It has been in effect a year now… A Coaster [the type of vehicle]… lighting a stove in a bus that airtight. Who’s to blame for the incident?

The important part is that he had already reached the exit, but he wasn’t allowed to exit? The service area was right behind him too, and he couldn’t stop there, neither? Were there no police at the scene?

Shanxi Responds to Driver “Frozen to Death” on Highway Case: It Was Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
On the night of February 20th, Hunan Liuyang man Chen Haibo was intercepted by Shanxi highway traffic police at Shanxi Pingding County Jiuguan Highway Toll Station while driving a passenger bus, and the next day, he was found dead in that bus. Family members of the deceased believe the law enforcement was inhumane. At noon on February 26th, the local police claimed that the autopsy confirmed that Chen Haibo died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
An online post: Driver trapped on highway frozen to death
“Because we are all Southerners, and thus especially afraid of the cold, and the people on the bus all work with fireworks, in consideration of the safety of the passengers, I led the passengers on foot to the Jiamei Business Hotel in Yangquan City. My father stayed behind to look after the bus, the electronics on board, and the passengers’ luggage.
On the morning of February 21st, my father failed to drive over with the bus, so I went look for him at the toll station at about 12 noon, and I found that my father had frozen to death in the bus.”
Regulation: Passenger buses aren’t allowed to get on Shanxi highways at night
This reporter inquired about Shanxi highway traffic regulations limiting night-time passenger vehicle traffic. As early as 2011, the Shanxi Province Highway Administration had regulations that implemented 24-hour inspection and registration systems for passenger vehicles at the 11 toll stations entering Shanxi province, that all passenger vehicles with potential safety hazards that aren’t able to be rectified on the spot would not be allowed to drive on the highway. From 8pm to 6am the next morning, passenger vehicles are generally not allowed to drive on any Shanxi highways, and from 8pm to 6am the next morning, any tourist coaches or buses crossing provinces are forbidden to pass through highways in Shanxi.
The traffic police: Cause of death suspected to be carbon monoxide poisoning.
At about 12:40pm, 120 [emergency services in China] and 110 [the police] arrived at the scene, with the leader on duty of the unit that day and other police officers also arriving at the scene one after another afterward. A stove was found in the bus at the scene, and it was still burning when 120, 110, criminal police, and highway traffic police arrived, the cause of death was suspected to be carbon monoxide poisoning.

Mister driver, please take Li Tianyi and several corrupt officials with you, amen!
[Note: Li Tianyi is the son of a very famous Chinese political song singer, who had been reeducated through labor at a work camp after beating a couple he had hit while driving but recently found his way back into the Chinese media spotlight for gang-raping a girl under the age of 18 with his former work camp inmates.]
No people from any other country is going to believe: A high and lofty vested interest group that lives in high-end villas, drives cars with special privileges, eats specially grown and prepared food, sits in luxury office buildings, spends trillions on food and drink [entertainment], competes in keeping mistresses, goes out with people all over their asses, speaks empty words, sends their children abroad, whose assets are not transparent to the public, who aren’t subject to supervision and accountability, and whose powers aren’t restricted would serve the people! Yet this pack of lies is one that so many people in China believe! Forward this comment. [13,465 upvotes at the time of translation]
Give the traffic police officer 200 kuai and he’d immediately let you park in the service area.
A man-made accident, so no matter how much they explain, the traffic police cannot escape responsibility.
Great JC comrade who insisted on performing his duty, if the driver was your father, would you still have done the same thing?
During the War of Resistance Against Japan, a group of American reporters went to Yan’an [in Shanxi province], encouraged and heartened by the spirit of the communists. When they returned, they said to Song Meiling that they were moved that such a group of positive, healthy, and incorruptible people still exists in China. Song Meiling at last said: “I admit, perhaps what you said is all true, but, that is only because they haven’t tasted true power yet.”
Fuck your mother!

Apart from “fuck your mother” these three words, I don’t know what else to say. Fuck this fucking system. All decisions are made by a tap on the head [without thought], with who actually listening to the ordinary common people’s opinions? A 7-seater bus can’t get on the highway at night, just how many people think this fucking rule makes sense? A large passenger bus in Shanxi has an accident at night, an instead of looking for the root cause, you guys come up with not allowing buses on the road at night, ridiculous to the extreme. So a large passenger bus is a lot of lives, but a single person in a small passenger car isn’t a life? Does safety care about how many people there are? Fuck your mother. You set that once the casualties of a single accident reach a certain number it becomes a big accident, so human lives are all but numbers to you. Fuck your mother’s cunt. I really wish I could just hack you bastards to death.
The editor/writer of this article is again trying to guide/shape public opinion. It was clearly CO poisoning, so where did the freezing to death come from? Traffic police enforcing traffic regulations, there’s nothing wrong about it. If anything is wrong, it’s the traffic rules being too rigid. But as long as the rules exist, they must be enforced. What if they let you onto the highway late at night, and then you have an accident due to fatigue, the family members would still be here screaming. Lighting a fire in an enclosed environment will produce a lot of CO, this has already become common sense. This driver lacked common sense, and he surely refused to turn on the air conditioner/heater simply to save gas.

CO poisoning, but it was still because the traffic police gave him no choice!
