Ex-Porn Star Defends New Film After Fans Doubt Its Content

Japanese ex-porn star Sora Aoi took to Twitter to snap back at Chinese fans calling into question the nature of her new film. The usually amiable Aoi, who has been invited to guest star in the forthcoming Hong Kong film “Classmate”, went on the defence with the help of translation software after fans believing the film would be another porno expressed their disappointment, saying, “You haven’t seen it, how can you say it’s a 3rd category movie?” Netizens were not impressed, with one giving her 10/10 for being a pretentious b***h.

Category III a legal rating, not a subjective assessment. If the Office for Film, Newspaper and Article Administration says it’s Category III, then it is Category III whether you have seen it or not.

This is her taking one step at a time. Hsu Chi (舒淇) used to do Category III but then became a real actress who wears clothes for the whole film. Sora hasn’t reached the stage that people will watch her with her clothes on, but now she can make a movie where nobody jizzes on her face.

Also, note to translators, since Hong Kong uses English as an official, administrative language, Hong Kong related terms will all have standard English nomenclature. Things like “3rd category” are strange and misleading.
