Family Refused Compensation, Sues Government

Family Refused Compensation, Sues Government

In 2012 a pair of brothers jumped into a marsh to save a man who had fallen in while they were at work on a construction sight, but they passed out because of toxic gasses. The two were both rescued, but required extensive medical treatment. 3 years later, the family has run out of money, and when they applied for assistance from a government sponsored organization, they were refused, leaving them no choice but to sue the government in a desperate attempt to be able to afford medical care. One of the highest rated comments on the article said “If the government is corrupt, the country is bound to be in chaos.”

So, you can sue the government now when they don’t give you cash? Do you need to have rescued someone first? This makes netizens question the government’s corruption level? Haven’t this been a top complaint for years?

Holy smokes Batman, I always find this site interesting, but this has gotta be the most confusing nonsense I’ve read.

Seems like there’s no concept of the importance of having health insurance here man. And even if there was, its doubtful premiums would be affordable to many. A real problem they need to solve ASAP.

      • Bman

Health Insurance is basically a prepaid debit card here from what I’ve seen; accident insurance is cheap enough. But real health insurance? I haven’t seen anything useful yet.
You’d think that would be a priority for any country. I’m guessing the decision makers are already taken good care of, therefore it can wait.

      这一点也不难理解,只怪你的智商太低。

Uh…are you really at the throwing stones and name calling level, cuz I just can’t do that man. I’m not 5 years old.
Stick to commenting on the news. That we can discuss. Thanks!

This is an English website. Why are you posting in Chinese?

Take your own advice before carelessly dispensing it to others. Your lack of self-introspection is dumbfounding.

I think they could both dial it back a bit.

          • bujiebuke

Agreed. I think part of the issue is that both sides have a bit of an English barrier.

          • Bman

            I am sorry.
The next time people talk about the joy of killing Muslims, and then lay down a blanket of anti-American sentiment, perhaps you could also speak up?

Will try. I like to keep things balanced.

After our conversation had run its course and was of no further benefit, I received several notices that he/she was sending long messages in Chinese, this last one questioning my IQ.
I merely wanted to move on to something productive.

At least your arguments are well written and on topic. I do like that. Though your sense of humor needs some work.

I have spent a large part of my life analyzing myself. Just because that isn’t reflected in some of these silly discussions doesn’t make it less true. I would bet you also haven’t reached perfection, but you still have an opinion as worthy as any other, and are more than willing to give it.

      • mr.wiener

Could we keep this civil please? … Also rather than acting like an ass and writting only in Chinese (which I can read… slowly… but I’m more used to tradition characters) How about educating others rather than assuming a position of indifferent superiority?
Perhaps you feel too many people have come to this site just to mock China and are immune to change.. but with an attitude like the one you have at the moment you will never change anyone’s mind.

You think it’s nonsense because this article is lack of sufficient information. Let me try to explain, by the way, it’s not my opinion by only fact from the news, and you may check out the source link if you could read Chinese.

      1. Background & Why this pair of brothers rescue other people

This accident happened in Guangdong Province. The government encourages people to rescue others who are in danger and set up a foundation for rescuing events. And there is a regulation for this which says it’s the foundation’s duty to reward the brave people who rescue others and pay them compensation if they are injured.

      2. Why they sue the government?

These two brothers, one is cured in hospital but the other becomes a vegetable (brain damaged), and the family run out of money for treating him. Due to the regulation published by government, the foundation should pay them compensation. But they are refused, for the foundation said their accident happened before the regulation is published.

      3. Why the netizens question government’s corruption level?

Governments corrupts indeed and netizens can do nothing about that. Even the foundations running by governments corrupts. There was news about charity corruption which makes netizens very very angry (Employees in charity foundation has mistress and she buy luxury things by charity money).

Hope explanation above makes sense for you.

Do you mean I’m hired by this website? Sorry that I don’t get your point, and I don’t work for this website. :D

          • Bman

Haha, what I mean is you should be hired. A lot of the stories lately are so incomplete that people are arguing about what is the truth. Your reply was very informative.

I suppose they have a case, with marsh gas being a natural resource by law its state owned!

With it being state owned, their accountable for any damage it may cause!
