HK Student Demonstrators Go On Trial For Obstructing Police

Two members of student group “Scholarism” who organized last year’s demonstration outside the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Hong Kong are on trial for “obstructing police carrying out their reasonable duty.” Huang Zhifeng, 18 and Luo Guancong, 22 of the student movement which stands for getting involved in government administration through social actions were formally charged by Hong Kong police surrounding events in which they burnt a white paper concerning HK and mainland China being one country with two systems. One netizen said they should be caged and thrown into the sea.

    two ugly geeks!
without mainland, hk and tw will be down and down…

Are they advocating not being a part of China? This article does not give much information, but it seems that the Chinese citizens are completely offended by what they did, judging by what the one netizen comment translated in the story said, and by your reaction and Number 42 below. Are they advocating complete separation?

      • mzungu

Haha… do you know what the two advocated? I’ll be very surprise if anyone did? or if anyone understand how elections are held in HK, who actually gets to vote, and or how that constitution come to be…. i am even sure if those 2 kids know what they ultimately wants….

    • mr.wiener

Actually, I think China needs HK more than they need you. Shanghai is still not the money making hub they hoped it would be.

If the goose is walking away, better to kill it and save face than lose it and have to watch it lay eggs from afar.

        • mr.wiener

          CCP logic?

          • Bman

Yes. It’s an observation; not my opinion.

But they have a crush on you

      • DD Bear!

        so you are them???

Yes I am two people with one brain

these 2 kids without any life experience without any contribution to society have ruined every chance for hongkong to develop as the first democratic place within china, they blew it. very ironic that the fighting for pro-democracy has actually backfired and destroyed the future potential of democracy for hongkong for which they never enjoyed during british colonial rule. it has to come down to a communist party nation to be able to introduce a form of democracy for hongkong, for which hongkong has chosen to dismiss….

    • Vance

Those 2 stupid kids did all that? Wow, they have a lot of power! This is another case of where I wish we had more information. It says they burned a piece of paper. Did they get arrested for that?

      • 42

I have been following the news about the Hongkong pro democracy demonstration quite well, which was world headline news by the way, even saying that it could have been the second tiannamen square incident, hongkong riot police was sent in, teargasses were used, it became out of control for quite some time, and these 2 students are the main ones who organised and lead the demonstrations and protests.

        • Alex Dương

it became out of control for qite some time

It was tense but under control most of the time.

        • Vance

Oh. That explains why they made such a deal out of those two then.

      • mr.wiener

Who would have thought two kids could have such power?
I also saw an article about some girl who complained about being groped by a cop…She has been charged with assaulting him with her breast….
        I’m not making this up.

        • Vance

HaHa! I read that on SHanghaiist. I keep picturing the girl poking the guy’s eye with her nip.

  • WghUk

    Communist influence in the background…
