Hospital Charges 8500 RMB for Cut Finger, Says Price is Normal

A woman in Zhengzhou recently went to the hospital to treat 2 cuts on the palm of her hand. After staying overnight and being slapped with an 8500 RMB bill, she believes she was over treated. While being treated, she received anesthesia for her whole body, instead of just a local dose for her hand. When her and her family went to the hospital director to ask about the treatment, he said it was normal, and there was nothing wrong with the doctor’s actions.Netizen comments on the article referenced many examples of doctors being attacked by patients, with one saying “I am never sympathetic when a doctor is attacked”.

Unless you got your hand mangled in machine works, why would you spend the night in the hospital for two cuts on your hand. Get some stitches if they are bad cuts and go home with some antibacterial cream. If you spend the night and get full anesthesia yea, it is going to cost 8500 yuan. Also, the time to question the treatment is before they do it not afterward when you don’t want to pay.

Indeed, I cut myself so deep on my right thumb that I could see the bone when I was 15, I went to the ER and got two stiches and that was it.

you are right, but what if is the doctor himself that says something like “i suggest to remain for the night”, “i suggest this and that…” and so on. You are the patient and you should completley trust your doctor, but if the only goal of the doctor is your money this becomes a trouble.

I wonder how much they charge to fix chronic hand cramping due to serial masturbation? Not that I have that problem, just hypothetically and for research purposes and stuff…

      Try alternating hands next time.

In USA they also charge outrageous prices for drugs and medical care. . yet you never hear about people attacking doctors at the hospital there.
