January To June Per Capita Disposable Income 10,931 RMB

Recently the National Bureau of Statistics released figures that showed the total national per capita disposable income during the first half of the year was 10931 RMB, a nominal annual increase of 9.0%. According to the salary figures of long term residents, those in towns and cities saw an 8.1% increase, averaging 15699 RMB, whilst those in rural areas averaged 5554 RMB with a 9.5% increase. With migrant labor worker salaries averaging just 3002 RMB/month, one netizen asked if they would be ashamed to make an online presence amongst those with “average” salaries.
