Man Rescued After Being Beaten, Locked in Sweatshop for 18 Years

Recently when police from Qingyuan, Guangdong, raided a workshop producing imitation high-end cotton products, they were surprised to find that the workshop had been keeping a man as a slave for the last 18 years. When he was 16 years old Xie Shisheng left Jiangxi and begin working at the workshop. Once he went in, he was never allowed to leave. The boss and his wife abused and tortured Xie, forcing him to work long hours and beating him at their whim. When he was finally rescued by the police, he wasn’t even aware of what year it was.
