Multiple Staff Fired After In-Flight Arson Attack
Taizhou Civil Aviation Authority Director Yang Youde, Deputy Director Lu Qichen, as well as the Taizhou Airport Safety Inspection Checkpoint Station Chief, Deputy Chief and its on duty staff have been fired after a passenger attempted to commit arson aboard a plane. Boarding flight ZH9648 from Taizhou to Guangzhou with a knife, gasoline and a lighter, Zhai Jinshun was subdued by two security guards and a passenger. Zhai was later hospitalized for head injuries sustained after climbing onto the wing and jumping as passengers were evacuating via emergency slides. Netizens felt some staff were probably wrongly dismissed.
