Myanmar Driver Says Innocent Chinese Jailed In Logging Case

A Chinese truck driver who was involved in the recent illegal logging activity in Myanmar has revealed that the 153 Chinese nationals who were jailed include eight women who had no part in it. The fortunate Yang Yun (alias), who was able to flee back to China and avoid capture, says the Myitkyina court has sentenced his restaurant-running aunt to 20 years too. He also says 22 arrested Burmese have all been released. The Chinese embassy in Myanmar has reminded the prisoners they have 60 days to appeal, and is working towards their release.
