Official Reappointed Despite Blame For “Poisoned Milk” Case
An official who received disciplinary action for his involvement in the 2008 “Chinese milk scandal” has been reappointed as the Graduate School Dean of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. PhD Liu Daqun received a demerit in March 2009 from Hebei Discipline Inspection Commission due to the case whilst he was appointed as head of Hebei Provincial Department of Agriculture. Numerous incriminated officials have been reappointed since the scandal in which powdered milk tainted with kidney-stone-causing melamine killed six. One netizen asked if such incompetent officials really must be put in charge.
