Once Chinese National Moral Role Model Now Transsexual Woman

A young man previously hailed as a “National Moral Role Model” is making headlines again, as a woman. When Liu Ting was 13, his mother developed uremia and his father left the family, leaving him to care for his sick mother all by himself. Still, he studied hard and made it to college, filially moving his mother near campus to continue taking care of her personally. When both his school and society sought to help him financially, he turned around and established a fund to help other impoverished students. Liu has now become a she, following sex reassignment surgery. The top Chinese netizen comment: “I don’t understand, I don’t oppose, and I won’t comment.”

How do you make god laugh?
    Tell him your plans.
Life is a strange trip, we all take different paths.

    • Bill Blaze

That which does not exist cannot laugh.

      Much like this website…

      • mr.wiener

While the existence or otherwise of god cannot be proved this website is still very much in existence. Whether the next week will show its rebirth or its death throes remains to be seen… keep the faith.

  • lonetrey / Dan

Good for her. I hope life continues to work out and nothing violent/too judgmental comes her way.

    • But where will HE stand in judgement when HE dies as we all will, and stand in judgement? Why support such a lifestyle?

“And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.” -Hebrews 9:27-28

      • Vance

That will be between uh…him/her…and God.

      • Oh joy, here comes the gender police, Bibles in hand, ready to tell us how moral a religion based on murder, slavery, and abuse is.

I’m more moral than any Abrahamic bullshit. I became a better person by ditching the religion my parents tried to saddle me with.

      • Pharenheit

That is none of your concern.
        Just worry about yourself.

      • Guest

what you should get from christianity is to love each other and not to judge others, no matter their race, religion, sexuality, gender orientation, etc as god will judge what is right and what it not (and you and no other human has any business deciding what god thinks is right/wrong) :/ not to discriminate and be a bigot.

do you seriousily think god cares if someone is homosexual or transgendered as long as they lived as a good person?

      • mr.wiener

You know you have made god in your own image when he conveniently hates all the same people you do…

        • Edward Kay

and we’re created in his/her image. dig it? :p

          • mr.wiener

In which cas god is a bigoted ape with poor impulse control who thinks he’s pretty special because he has a smart phone.

    • Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
      1 Corinthians 6:9-11

      • KamikaziPilot

Another religious nutcase. You need a 2000 year old book to tell you how to live your life? You can believe whatever you want but don’t expect others to conform to your delusional beliefs. I don’t believe in god myself I got better things to do with my time.

        • Vance

They don’t use a 2000 year old book to run China.

          • KamikaziPilot

I don’t think that guy is Chinese, at least not a Chinese national. Besides I was talking about him personally not China the country. I’ve seen him post before, he’s a religious nut.

          • Vance

Yea I kinda gathered that :) However, It is my belief that the Bible is a good guide to live by. They don’t use those principles in governing China so it really does not surprise me the way people are there. Many seem self centered and very materialistic. The Bible teaches against that. Yea I know some people take it and come up with some whacky things. The Book Itself has a lot of common sense for living in the world. I think China is a good example of a group of people that do not live by principles such as those in the Bible. Still, to each his own. Jesus said “Do not judge” So I try not to (and sometimes fail miserably. lol Fortunately, God is also big into forgiveness.).

          • KamikaziPilot

I don’t really care if people want to live their life by the bible, it’s their choice, but when it starts unfairly hurting or discriminating against people like Rich was stating, I’m against it. I’ve never read the bible. All I know is what I hear every so often (like Rich stated). Seems like it’s against homosexuality, like it’s a crime. Also people who say they use the bible as a guide seem to be terribly inconsistent when deciding which values to follow (ex. “do not judge”). Regarding the story, who is the transsexual hurting with his/her lifestyle? Rich is against it just because some book says so. That doesn’t seem a good reason. In that case following the bible would be wrong according to my values. Regarding biblical values in China, well the US is supposedly a Christian nation, but I wouldn’t say Americans are more or less ethical than Chinese as a whole.

Maybe he will be condemned by God, maybe not. However, what I do know is that this is not up to you to determine, so why comment on it at all? Remember,

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”

        • Vance

HaHa!! Yea the world is just full of sinners.

      • Vance

The people of the new Church at Corinth were losing their way and falling back to the shallow ways of the society in a notoriously shallow city. Paul was simply admonishing the parishioners to stay in their new found faith and avoid falling away back to the materialism of society. Because sexual practices of many kinds were a part of this shallow society, many now interpret Paul’s words as a condemnation against whatever sexual practice they disfavor. It should be remembered that Paul also lamented the necessity of getting married at all. He though it would be better if people could live so fully in their faith that they would not need marital partners for fulfillment. He knew that was an impossible proposition so he did offer advise on marriage in the faith. Remember that he also postulated that God’s love was available for all who would accept it, so I think we do him wrong to use writings of this very remarkable man to condemn those whose practices we don’t like.

        • mr.wiener

I really don’t trust Paul, the original born again christian.

          • Vance

Actually it isn’t Paul you should trust. He was just another imperfect human being. I tend to like him because he acknowledged this himself. Remember, he used to imprison and even kill people. He found a better way of doing things.

          • The guy was a raging misogynist who is responsible for basically all the persecution and inequity of women in Christianity. His continuous characterization of women as second class in 1 Cor 11 and 1 Tim 2 & 5 was directly responsible for ensuing millennia of oppression.

You can’t hide behind the ‘imperfect human being’ excuse when you’re responsible for codifying what people think is ‘divinely-inspired’, ‘infallible’ dogma. Of course the whole religion is what’s imperfect and human.

          • Vance

All religion is imperfect and human. Unfortunately, the attitude that women were second class was the prevailing feeling of the day. No excuses, though. He did miss an opportunity to continue a trend that Jesus started as women did hold an important role in his ministry. Remember that upon resurrection, He appeared to the women first. I’ve always thought that was significant. I know that in some of the pegan practices of the day women were used as temple prostitutes and for sexual rituals. Perhaps Paul’s admonishment of having women participate as deacons and clergy was an effort to prevent this from developing in the early Christian church. The teachings were actually very advanced for the day. While setting women in their “roles” as they all did in that time and place, He also admonished the Church to care for widows in 1 Tim 5, and husbands to love their wives. This was actually very advanced thinking. No he did not advocate societal equality for women. The world did not achieve that until the last few decades and some argue that this goal has yet to be reached. Incidentially, the church I go to has two pastors. One is a woman and she is a very good minister.

Here is the society America has now in 2015: prison inmates getting sex reassignment surgery on tax payer money, including Bradley Manning, or Chelsea he would prefer you call him, legalized drugs, gays adopting babies, legal abortion, (58,000,000 babies murdered in America), 18 trillion dollars in national debt with no end in sight to stopping the hemorrhaging of government spending, and wide open borders where the conversation is now only about handing out passports to illegals, just to get more Latino votes. This is a backwards and immoral society. The chickens will come home to roost, so I hope all these know it all 20 something flaming liberals are ready for it.

      • Tommy .Wijaya

        How old are you? 5?

  • The source article doesn’t seem to match… And Google Image Search doesn’t find anything.

I did find this Al Jazeera article though… http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2015/4/9/chinese-state-media-stands-by-morality-of-trans-woman.html

The first line pun is pretty low. Ugh.

    • hang

      …Also that much photoshop.

      • Glamour is as glamour does. No different from all the cisgender women models.

        • Vance

Cisgender? That is a new term to me.

          • ‘Cis’ is the Latin opposite of ‘trans’ so it is a technical way of referring to people whose biological sex is the same as their gender identity.

          • Vance

Thanks!. I learn something new on Chinasmack every day. The intellectual stimulation is why I come here!

          • Mighty曹

I agree. But intellectual degradation far exceeds stimulation here.

          • Doesn’t that make you a masochist? Does it hurt so good? Mmmm?

          • Mighty曹

Explain to me how you interpreted my statement as one of taking pleasure?

          • You’re doing an ostensibly net harmful thing voluntarily without compensation, and because you’re enduring more pain than pleasure it follows that the pain itself must be valuable to you, hence masochism.

            Or you’re just a whackjob, that’s also possible… ^_^ :P

          • Mighty曹

I’m still having difficulty following this. It’s just not conceivable in my mind. I envy your lifestyle.

          • Unless you like gagging hard on some guy who’s forcing your position and saying, ‘oh no, you’re not done!’ You probably don’t envy my lifestyle… ^_^

          • Mighty曹

            TMI !

          • hehehehehe!

          • Vance

I try to pick and choose.

          • Mighty曹

            Lately it’s been slim pickings.

          • Vance

            Yea it has been rough.

  • videmus

    Link is wrong

  • Ivan

I believe the correct pronoun is Xir

    • Ha ha, very funny. Most trans people do not identify by gender neutral pronouns. That’s more agender or genderfluid people.

  • monster

guess no women wanna change into men….life would be much harder, even do not know how to use the fake tool, hahahah!

    • Vance

Life is harder for men. That is why our life expectancies are shorter than for women.

      • monster

        do u use wechat ?

    • Your denigration of trans men is not at all funny.

And for the record you probably wouldn’t know a trans man if you saw one. They have a much higher rate of ‘passing’ (vs. trans women) regardless of the age of transition.

      • monster

u plan to change into guy?
if so, i’d like to be your gf!

        • I was assigned male at birth, actually. I am a transgender woman.

  • wat.

The thing I want to know is where is he getting the money from? A few years ago he was broke, and now he is paying for all the expensive procedures. I read that his dad had previously abandoned the family and they didn’t have any source of income……sex change operations should be at least few hundred grand right?

It’s her decision to make, other people have no right to say anything.

Fame has turned this person into a he-she

It’s her freedom, she has never inconvenienced anyone, so why do you guys ridicule her? Is it wrong to follow your heart? Can you even imagine what it was like for her to be a woman trapped in a man’s body? You guys shame and ridicule her without impunity is because as normal people you’ve never experienced the level of pain she has, so how can you with this rationale criticize her! She is true to herself, is it a crime to change your sex so that you can have a happier life? Is there even a difference between what you guys are doing and homophobia?

    I’m actually hard right now.

This is so gross, I can’t even eat anymore

Peed standing up for 20 something years! Put your hand up if you think she might take a shit instead when she sits down for a piss!
