Online Giant Alibaba Holds Global Women Entrepreneurs Meeting

China’s biggest online retailer Alibaba called together the first “Global Women Entrepreneurs Conference” in Hangzhou. 1000 women from all kinds of professions were invited to attend, with special guests including Hollywood star Jessica Alba and Arianna Huffington, the founder of the Huffington Post. Alibaba’s founder Jack Ma believes: “Before Internet, male entrepreneurs had more opportunities, there wasn’t as much that women could do. In the era of Internet and the Experience Economy, where user experience, emotions and communication are emphasized, the work happens to be very suitable to the special talents of women.

Honestly Jack Ma’s statement is sexist. Notice how he boxes in women by basically saying they can only do work that is “emotional”. Women can do any job a man can. It’s all very convent for a man to decide what jobs are “suitable” for women.

    • Bman

But isn’t what he’s saying true? I mean, woman can do the emotional stuff while the men do the heavy lifting, right? You see, women are weak.
And Hack Ma is a glorious example of the more malelike traits; such as strength and general physical prowess.
      Mwahahahahaaa :D
Did he even think about that for one moment?
Cuz he’s not only less emotionally capable than a woman, but he’s also quite a bit weaker!

Women cannot do any job a man can, for example, funny and ironically enough almost all the chef cooks are all men, because proffesional cooking is hard labor, especially chinese cuisine, a womans physique cannot handle it.

      • Somebody tell Cat Cora she doesn’t exist, among many others.

        • 42

Cora who?? And with cooking I didn’t mean salad dressing.

          • One of the most famous female chefs in the world, who’s done like a dozen TV shows, including being an Iron Chef, operates at least half a dozen restaraunts, etc. also inducted into the Culinary Hall of Fame.

Speaking of Culinary Hall of Fame inductees who are women, there’s also Elizabeth Falkner, Lidia Bastianich, and Susan Spicer. (And restaurants operated by female chefs Alice Waters, Jody Adams, Melissa Kelly, etc.)

I see, so you are probably also one of those who considers Jamie Oliver to be a top notch chef cook just because he went on television……okay…..

          • Being on TV is neither justification nor indemnification. Do you think Masaharu Morimoto is not top notch just because he was on TV?

          • Maximus

            Are you fully transitioned?

          • (Totally off topic, but whatevs.) That implies a universal standard, which there is not in modern therapeutic practice. Each person decides what their “full transition” is.

As for me I’m a year or two away from my own goals for the standard I’ve set for “full transition” (depending on whether I ultimately want facial feminization surgery, which I haven’t honestly decided yet, which would push the schedule out another year probably).

“…especially chinese cuisine, a womans physique cannot handle it.”

My favorite Asian restaurant was run by 3 middle-aged women who busted their ass 18 hrs/day cooking, running to the cash register, and bringing out the food. The dining area and the kitchen was wide open for everyone to see. Honestly, I don’t know many people, male or female who could do what they did for those many years.

There are woman, and then there are woman who are genitally considered to be woman, but physical wise on the contrary.

          • What an arbitrary distinction. All all strong women not really women to you? All weak men not really men? Would certainly explain the genesis of your nonsense post.

          • 42

My posts are not nonsense, there are many differences between a man and a woman, whereas some jobs suits a man more and some jobs suits women more, that is a fact, and failing to recognize this can be considered extreme denial. Why do you think that women tennis play much less sets than men tennis, just for such reasons. Their physique cant handle it. There are exceptions that women physical condition reaches to the level of men, but is considered rare. Another example is that you almost never see female construction workers.

You approach this distinction as something negative, I however rather agree with Jack Ma, tap in the potential of this difference and use it wisely.

          • bujiebuke

“but physical wise on the contrary.”

            what does this mean?

      • mr.wiener

Who do you think does most of the cooking in the world sport?
Quite apart from cooking ,do you think you could squeeze out a kid? Many peopl seem to have strong opinions on things they have never done,I’d ad ise you keep a more open mind on this… but I already know the value you attach to my opinions…

    • mr.wiener

His seminar may be a bit patronizing for western tastes ,but in light of the views of people like “42” , it might be just what china needs.

      • 42

Oh he mentioned me in his comment in a third person kind of way, I am flattered, hihihihihihihihi *^_^*

        …….

        • mr.wiener

          You are most welcome.

    • tomoe723

At least he recognizes something women do that men can’t. Hehe.

  • Bman

    Jessica Alba….drool…
    Jack who?

    • 42

Don’t know who Jack Ma is? Thats why you are not rich or succesful and just merely fapping on female movie stars.

      • Do you recognize this man? If you don’t, you’re not watching enough television!

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HveMAHf2UBg

(Disturbingly this isn’t very far from actual infomercials done by actual self-proclaimed tycoon Tom Vu back in the day, which is what the parody is based on.)

        • bujiebuke

Apparently he also inadvertently inspired a couple of gym rats in south Florida to commit double murders back in the 90’s.

        • 42

This is just about the reason why I don’t watch much television, poison for the brains, m’kay, not to mention exorbitantly retarted.

      • Bman

Of course i know, don’t be silly. I just think he is over done. Taobao is a joke of poor quality products and fakes. I much more admire The ceo of jd, who founded his company on quality products, delivered within12 hours usually. And the delivery guy smiles! Taobao stuff is broken 30% of the time.

      • Bman

Oh, and i live in China. Way too busy to fap.

  • bujiebuke

I think Jack Ma created this whole thing just so he can make an excuse to fly Jessica Alba over to him… I know that’s what I’d do

    • Vance

      It would be worth it.

  • DC

she is soooo hot…and sooo rich…and sooo out of my league…
