Dismissed CPPCC Member Liu Yingxia Once Traveled with High-Level Officials on Official Business Trips, Changed Outfits Multiple Times in 1 Day

Liu Yingxia’s eleven year long career as a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) came to an abrupt end on the 20th. No official explanation has been given.

Liu used to serve as the vice president of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC). Yicai Daily called someone inside the ACFIC yesterday, [who said] they are aware of Liu Yingxia’s dismissal, that the specific reason is complicated, with both objective factors and factors pertaining to Liu herself. ACFIC will not make any comments on the incident for now.

As a businesswoman with both wealth and beauty, Liu has a very impressive background. She was born in 1972, has obtained a master’s degree and is currently the chairwoman of Harbin Xiangying Group.

Liu was reportedly the youngest provincial Political Consultative Conference member and vice president of provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce in Heilongjiang in 2002. In March 2003, Liu was elected to be a member of the CPPCC, setting a new record for the participation of businesspeople in the CPPCC.

On New Fortune magazine’s 2002 China Top 400 Rich list, Liu was ranked 179 with personal assets of 500 million yuan. Later on, when a mainland media publication selected the “Ten Wealthiest Women in Mainland China”, Liu came in 8th. According to reports, Liu currently is worth over 1 billion yuan.

Around 2005, she accompanied high-ranking government officials on official business trips. According to someone on the same trip, she maintained a high profile among the accompany business executives. She paid great attention to her appearance, sometimes changing outfits many times a day.

In contrast to her high profile in political and business circles,Liu tends to keep her personal life private. Apart from briefly mentioning that her father works abroad in her profile on her company website, she has never talked about her family publicly.

On 2012 May 30, the Cooperation Framework Agreement on China West-East Gas Pipeline Project Third Line was signed in Beijing. Petro China introduced the National Council for Social Security Fund, Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Fund and Baosteel Group as new shareholders. Together, these companies will invest in the pipeline project. The project is the biggest PetroChina project that welcomes social capital, with an investment of over 110 billion. As the chairwoman of the Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Fund, Liu attended the signing ceremony, as did then chairwoman of Petro China Dong Jiemin.

Too many clients, [needing] several outfits each day.

The connections and protective umbrellas behind these people should be investigated. In the over 30 years since the Reform and Opening Up, for many multimillionaire and billionaires, just where did their money come from?

网易上海市网友 [人民领袖毛澤東]:

Look at the masses of workers, peasants/farmers, and migrant workers. Look at the millions of laid-off workers. They don’t have a job, any power, or any skills, most of them are around their fifties, unable to find employment again. With less than 1000 yuan income every month, they have to support their family and pay for their kids’ school tuition, while there is no retirement pension or medical insurance for these people. They are a group of people that are completely overlooked by society.

网易黑龙江省哈尔滨市网友 [想啥说啥爱咋咋地]:

Comrade Yingxing used her own hard work to change her life and sets an example for workers, peasants/farmers, and migrant workers. Everyone will succeed as long as they work hard. The society needs those who can create wealth. Every person who’s creating wealth for him or herself and for society is at the same time also creating opportunities for employment and survival for others. For those who are well-off, it’s normal for them to change even 100 outfits every day. And those who are jealous, they can do nothing but be miserable~

Leaders today have already completely lost the trust of the ordinary common people. No matter how you propagandize yourselves, we are not going believe it. We only believe the truth. With money, you can do anything and everything. How many of those government officials are upright and honest? Criminals and thugs have become government officials and rich. Relying on honest hard work is not enough. Using connections, trading money or sex for power, that’s how you get promoted and rich.

How are these members selected? Removed? Who has the right to remove them? Why isn’t there any explanation? Is the CPPCC governed by a minority [select few]? Just who does the CPPCC represent?

Probably slept with the government leaders during those business trips!

She seems intelligent…I would like to learn from her…or at least sniff her bicycle seat

    • YourSupremeCommander

Confucius says her bicycle seat is the only thing that touches that crotch that carries no STDs.

  • lacompacida

What’s interesting is that I wasn’t able to find the reason why she was removed ? Corruption ? Not playing with the right gang ? Threat to Xi ?

  • Wodowsan

“Comrade Yingxing used her own hard work to change her life and sets an example for workers, peasants/farmers, and migrant workers. Everyone will succeed as long as they work hard.”
She started her own construction company at the age of 20 .This is from her own very hard work, without money from family, and without political connections?

    • Paul Schoe

We all have starting points in life. It is not where we start, it is what we do from there on.

      • Wodowsan

I would agree with you, if it were a system that did not give a handful an extremely unfair advantage with the power of government connections.

As Malcolm Forbes once said the easy way to make a small fortune is to start with a large fortune. So you are right in a free market system without unfair government favors her accomplishments should be commended, But she did not make her millions in that kind of system.

I did not attack her for being attractive (although in a society that is as shallow as China – for example: requiring photos on your resume for job applications. And with clear age discrimination) I am sure when she was younger, it did not hurt her in making deals being a young and attractive woman.
I do not though think being an attractive woman was enough to make her successful, there are a lot of attractive women in China. I am sure her intelligent was a much greater factor, but no matter how intelligent she is, to be able to start her own construction company in China at only the age of 20, she clearly used her family’s PLA and Party connections to obtain important government favors in her endeavors. That is why the netizen’s comments were so ridicules, especially in the so called equalitarian communist state of China.

    • Rick in China

I suppose walking around town with a tool box and sticks patching up holes in houses could be considered a construction company… no? :D

    • Zappa Frank

it reminds me of Berlusconi who started pretty much in the same way..

    • Mateusz82

“Everyone will succeed as long as other people work hard for them, and they profit off the labor of the workers.”

      There. Fixed it.

      • miomeinmio

        Clap. Clap.

    • Probotector

      That’s hard work in China.

    • I am sorry if your family couldn’t back you up with your own construction company. Mine couldn’t help me like that either but they’ve done as much as they could for me , just like any parents would :)

  • Ruaraidh

Surely eyebrows aren’t meant to be that high on your face? It’s ok to laugh because she probably paid for them through graft and nefarious means.

  • Mighty曹

You run with the big boys you get tripped by the big boys. We may not know the reason for her removal but she probably deserved the it.

  • YourSupremeCommander

Judging by her looks, I say she slept her way to the top. Sort of like this chick:

    • Paul Schoe

While the one whose picture you publish, has a documented history about how she came to visa and richness, from Liu Xingyia you have only seen a picture, know that she has a master’s degree and that she was already active in a construction company at age 20.

Yes, her looks and charm may (will) have helped (a lot) getting business, but they do not support your remarks. What is it to you when an attractive woman is succesfull? It threatens your male chauvinism? Or can’t you believe that they were able to achieve more then you, so they must have achieved it under the blankets?

Grow up and focus on your own life, instead of downloading pictures of women and posting them over the internet.

      • mr.wiener

I know business-women in China. It is a Darwinian process red in tooth and claw. You definitely do not get by on looks and charm. These women are very tough.

        • Paul Schoe

I certainly believe that. But I guess that good looks help to get entrance. But it is quite a stretch from good looks to bed play.

        • my old boss forbid her husband to say he was her husband. Funny shit, seeing them working together.

      • YourSupremeCommander

You look 40 years old but yet naive like a 12 year old. I guess ignorance is bliss. Please go free NK and solve the problems in the Middle East.

        • Paul Schoe

I guess prejudism works better for you then ignorance. Just continue to judge other people on presumed conditions that are not even connected to them but to people who you consider to be part of the same group (in this case, as you mentioned it, ‘looks’).

To me it feels better to be ignorant of things and know it, then to judge others without taking their unique personal situation into account.

Enjoy downloading pictures of women and making up stories (fantasizing) about them.

          • YourSupremeCommander

I see that common sense cannot be drilled into your head, oh well, some people has to go about life the hard way.

          • donscarletti

“I guess prejudism works better for you then ignorance”

Are you an English teacher by any chance?

          • Paul Schoe

No, English is not my mother-tongue. I would feel bad if Chinese kids would take over my pronounciation ;-)

      • donscarletti

What, so Wendi Deng doesn’t have a masters degree? Wendi Deng didn’t work hard throughout her 20s and show good business outcomes to her employer?

Nobody could claim any billionaire could have become so by simply whoring herself. Being a whore can just get you a thousand dollars a night at best for a couple of years, a couple of million in total for an entire career. I think the general accusation is she enhanced the outcomes from her intelligence, creativity and hard work through whoring.

I don’t think the way she looks suggests she slept her way to the top, but the description of her accompanying various leaders on trips kind of suggests it in a way. However most powerful old Chinese dudes I know would rather bone a vacuous and plain 20 year old nobody than a charming and beautiful mature lady with character, so if she has been directly giving sexual favours to such types, it hasn’t been for the last 10 years.

        • Paul Schoe

I didn’t say Wendy Deng did not work hard to arrive where she did. But it is known in detail which relationships she used to get her visa and her step into real richness.

Of Liu Yingxia we have, as you say, only suggestions. It is too easy to simply extrapolate from richness and looks that she must have slept her way to the top. Some woman are so smart that they don’t need that.
Let’s give the person involved the benefit of the doubt rather then defending the persons who smear other people’s name with unsubstantiated accusations.

    • arterius2

you can tell a lot about a person’s background based on the way they smile, for example this women, you can tell that she exhibit this “awkward” looking smile sort of by pulling one side of her facial muscles – a result of the person reluctant to smile but forcing a “shrug-smile” usually shows that person lacks any means of happiness and has experienced much abusive and traumatic events during their life and has basically grown cynical and indifferent to whatever’s yet to come.

  • lonetrey / Dan

The thing that throws me off the most is how… inconspicuous she looks. She doesn’t have that evil-rich-old-biddy look, nor the harmless-granny-but-will-shank-you-the-moment-you-turn-around look.

I don’t know, I know people say you shouldn’t judge by looks…. I can’t help but get a harmless vibe from her.

    • donscarletti

Man or woman, you don’t make over a billion yuan without being a shark.

Anyway, she’s not old at all. She was born in 1972, so she’s 42 this year.

  • Terrik

    It’s business, it’s business time!

    • RickyBeijing

I know what you’re tryin’ ta say, it’s time for business that’s why they call it business time ooh!

  • Boris_Da_Bengal_Tiger

Since she is a woman, she must have shagged her way to the top. – Typical comment about women in power in China.

    • Mighty曹

I’ve seen a program (forgot which, 20/20, 60 Mins, or similar) that featured her. She pretty much built a construction empire with her husband. Most of those fancy buildings at the Beijing Olympics were done by them.

  • B*tches, Leave

Sleeps her way through her career and when another dick comes along, who’s rank is lower than hers, she says NO … but in China there are no low rank dicks, there are low rank dicks with high rank relatives, so he told on her and she got removed!

  • arterius2

“The rest I won’t comment on, but I just want to say, why is her mouth always opened so wide?”

^ Top comment of the day

  • Paul Schoe

Basically, i have the same questions as that mobie phone user:

    How are these members selected?
Removed? Who has the right to remove them?
    Why isn’t there any explanation?
Is the CPPCC governed by a minority [select few]?
Just who does the CPPCC represent?

      • Paul Schoe

(for others who click on the link: the info is in the last section of the page: CPPCC Members)

Still leaves the question of why she was ousted. Guessing and gossipping remain obsessive habits ;-)

      • David

Thanks. So the short answer, after you read through everything, is that the Standing Committee selects the people on the CPPCC.

  • mr.wiener

It would be interesting to know why she got the boot. We can only speculate.

    • arterius2

the only we can speculate is how many face lifts, nose jobs or botox she underwent in the course of her life.

      • Probotector

        Not to mention eyebrow tattooing.

    • Chinese

She is involved in the “oil gang”.

      • Paul Schoe

Thanks for the link. Explains a lot.
Naturally the rules for a CPPCC member state that they have to be of ‘good conduct’ and doing oil business without at least some corruption is very unlikely. Her losing this position might be only the first step in a range of planned moves concerning this “oil gang”.

      • mr.wiener

        Thanks for that, much appreciated.

      • David

I appreciate the link and the information.

  • Cameron

Hilarious people taking offence at the notion she used her looks/sexual favours to get to the top. Check out the photo with the knee high black boots and mini skirt olus bright orange jacket. Reasonable attire for a governmental meeting? Whether she actually bedded any of them is almost besides the point, as she’s blatantly attention to her looks as a means of being in the spotlight. Hardly a feminist.

Anyway, regardless of sexual favours, like her colleagues she’s just one more multi-millionaire using Communist (haha) Party networks to add more value to her business portfolio.

In a country in which hundreds of millions continue to scrape by on a few dollars a day, there is not a group of people more deserving of misfortune than CCP “politicians”, who rob the country and the people blind while lecturing them about morality. Bunch of fucking c*nts the lot of them!

  • Claude

Well.. I just love her in her military costume!

  • diverdude7

I like her in the DPRK Concentration Camp guard look. Sexy as heck as she slowly tortures u for failing to ‘lip my stockings!’!

    • Probotector

lol I love how Bill Murray reacted to that “What? lip them? What?!”

      • diverdude7

yeah,,, i still lmao when i flash on that scene…. love the scene, love the movie… Bill & Scarlett rok!

  • Probotector

Why is she (somewhat) dressed in the military uniform if she never served? I know they do this sometimes, but is it supposed to look chic or ‘fierce’?

    Consider this article:

    • Chinese

But she has served in the military.

      • Probotector

According to, “Ms Liu joined the PLA when she was 15 and after retiring from the army attended the Northeastern Institute of Heavy Machinery for further studies” So she’s a teenager in that picture? It was the fact that she’s not wearing a shirt and tie under her tunic that made me skeptical, but then again at that itme in a youth division of the PLA that’s probably how they dressed back then. I stand corrected.

    • Paul Schoe

Interesting article, but notice the difference between: “has been given a suspended sentence of nine months” and the “has been jailed for nine months“. I guess implying that she has been jailed attracts more readers.

  • ESL Ninja

    I’d hit it.

  • Mighty曹

That’s the more reason to be cautious about ‘running with the big boys’. I really don’t think it has anything to do with ‘sex’ as suggested by so many. I actually think she’s above that. She’s not some unknown young beauty who slept her way to the top. So I’m very curious as to why she’s out of favor.

As for Ai Weiwei, China has come a long way but it can still drum up charges like back in the days.

  • moop

just an update. people are saying she has already left the country

    • mr.wiener

Did she bring her uniform with her?

      • moop

yes, but it has since been modified

        • mr.wiener

  • mike921

That’s one reason why everyone here grabs everything they can whenever they can – the ‘system’ can turn on you in a millisecond….

  • Vernon Alarcon

I mean …. she be fine…..but she needa stud to keep her satisfyd .. fo’ reals

  • vecuccio

Worth 1 billion ? She must have sucked a serious amount of cocks ! Corrupt as f**k for sure.
