Lyrics (Original Chinese, Pinyin Romanization, and English Translation):

我的天空 为何挂满湿的泪
wǒ de tiān kōng wèi hé guà mǎn shī de lèi
My sky. Why is it covered with tears?

我的天空 为何总灰的脸
wǒ de tiān kòng wèi hé zǒng huì de liǎn
My sky. Why is its face always grey?

piāo liú zài shì jiè de lìng yì biān
Drifting on the other side of the world

rèn jì mò qīn fàn yí biàn yí biàn
Allowing loneliness to invade again and again

tiān kōng huà zhe cháng cháng de sī niàn
The sky. Pierced by long, long longing

你的天空 可有悬着想的云
nǐ de tiān kōng kě yǒu xuán zhè xiǎng de yǔn
Your sky. Does it have clouds hung there that are missing (me)?

你的天空 可会有冷的月
nǐ de tiān kōng ké huì yǒu lěng de yuè
Your sky. Does it have the cold Moon?

fàng zhú zài shì jiè de lìng yì biān
Exiled on the other side of the world

rèn jì mò zhàn jù yí yè yí y4
Allowing loneliness to occupy night after night

tiān kōng cáng zhe shēn shēn de sī niàn
The sky. Hiding deep, deep longing

děng dài zài shì jiè de gè yì biān
Waiting on opposite sides of the world

rèn jì mò xī xiào yì nián yì nián
Allowing loneliness to laugh year after year

tiān kōng dié zhe céng céng de sī niàn
The sky. Piled with layers and layers of longing

tiān kōng dié zhe céng céng de sī niàn
The sky. Piled with layers and layers of longing

Holds little interest for me. More power to those who like it. I’m not going to be too judgmental about his looks. I used to listen to all that new-romantics crap back in the 80’s.

You didn’t miss out on much. An arms race of style over substance.

I like faye wong sky version better. I love the piano. So soothing. Beautiful!

Can ye at chinasmack not track down actual music? There are actual Chinese people who record and perform real musical genres, not this plate of turds ye at chinasmack are constantly serving us viewers. Seriuosly, I’m sick to the back of my teeth of yet another poxing love song performed by some effette little boy/girl kermit the frog lookalike creature. The only contemporary Chinese musician I like so far is Deng Li Jun aka Teresa Teng, and she died 30 years ago. Her music was a bit more complex, subtle and melodic. It had therse jazz undertones. This garbage, on the other hand, is what Hu Jinao wants China’s youth to be listening to, all almondy sweet “oooo wa oooo I’ve talked to you on the phone for 6 months now, so now I’ll let you hold my hand.” So f8cking harmonious, I’ll harmoniously shoot myself. With a f8cking nail gun! Jesus f8cking wept!
