According to The National Bureau of Statistics, 70 million villagers (7.2%) in China live in poverty. The Daliang Mountians in Sichuan are such an impoverished area that to the residents eating meat is a luxury, they’ll eat it at most 3 times a year, and over 100 children of age have never been to school. Netizens express sympathy and wish they could help, replying with “is there an address? Every year my house has lots of clothes I don’t wear.” Others say that looking at it is saddening, they didn’t expect there to be households now that couldn’t afford to eat meat.
