Stock Exchange To Close For 4 Days To Mark WWII Memorial Day

The China Securities Regulatory Commission announced recently that the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges would close for four days in September to commemorate 70 years since the “victories of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japan and the World War against Fascism”. The break will begin on Thursday the 3rd, with trading continuing as normal the following Monday on the 7th. Many netizens expressed their suspicions, with one commenter saying it was the [markets’] last supper.
