Stock Trading Village” People Quit Market On Share Decline

Many residents from Nanliu village in Xingping decided to return to their old alternate trades of dealing in discarded goods due to the recent 30% fall in the Shanghai Composite index that started on June 12. Many of the villagers started dabbling in stock trading during the 2007 bull market, and even set up a mini “stock exchange hall”. However, it has since been shut, and although some villagers are hoping for a market reversal and a chance to bail, others have given up hope and have already resorted to old income streams. One netizen said he had nothing left after losing 210,000 RMB.
