Surviving WWII Veterans to Receive 5000 RMB Subsidy

The head of National Defense University’s Cataloging and Research Departments has written an article expressing that some of the surviving Chinese WWII veterans will receive a one-off subsidy of 5000 RMB. Xu Sen said it is a symbolic token to commemorate those involved in the “victories of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japan and the World War against Fascism”. He also slammed recent opinions that the CPC didn’t contribute much in the war, and denounced the KMT members that turned their guns on the CPC, saying their merits couldn’t simply outweigh their faults, to which many netizens agreed.
