Truck Falls Through Road

Truck Falls Through Road

One steel plate carrying truck halfway to its destination suddenly broke through the pavement and became stuck in the middle of the road, the truck’s right side about one meter below ground. The load limit on the road was found out to be 12 tons, but the truck was carrying 40 tons. Municipal construction workers at the scene said “this road wasn’t put down until November 25th, we hadn’t found out that there was groundwater creating an underground cavity here.” The highest comment said “I’m a road repair supervisor, and this job was definitely skimped on. I swear it on my hands.” Another netizen said “so…the truck was overloaded…but the tire didn’t pop…the road did? Interesting.”

I am in line with the last quoted comment. I too wondered how the concrete road gave way before the rubber tires did if the truck was overloaded.

There are trucks that carry much more than that, and the tires don’t pop. Check out the trucks they use in those giant mines up north.
