Unusual Weather Strikes Northern China, Snow Covered Flowers

In the last few days, many places throughout Northern China have experienced unusual May snowstorms, including Beijing, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi and others. On May 8th, in Chengde, Hebei, the spring flowers were covered in snow, making for a strange contrast of seasons. On May 10th, a thick layer of snow coated the ground in Hebei’s Fengning Manchurian Autonomous Prefecture, building up to over 10cm. Netizens were fascinated by the phenomenon, with one saying “Freezing to death in summer.”
