Ma Jiajia Posts TED lecture, Attracts Netizen’s Attention

Ma Jiajia, an entrepreneur born in the 90’s, posted a transcript of the TED lecture Hopeless Students on her Weibo, saying it was an offering to those who wanted to move up the social ladder and obtain economic freedom while they are still young. Some were in support of her, saying “This is useful!” Others mocked her, saying “Putting random English words in with Chinese is acting like a pro, right?” Aside from opening Powerful, the successful adult products store after graduating from college, Ma has many other progressive ideas. For example, all of her employees have month-long “cosmetic-surgery” holidays every year.

Who is that? A girl? Adult products? Like sex toys?

Month long cosmetic holidays? What?? Something is strange here about this story.

          • Absolutely, IMO, most young women look better with long hair

          • David

Actually I was referring to her boobs.

          • So you are a “T” man?

          • David

            Well, I AM a man.

          • Vance

The lesson here is they look better wearing less layers of clothing.

Honestly, I can’t figure out whether you are smart and pretending to be stupid or stupid and pretending to be smart.

            Either way, brilliant comment.

  • David

So I am not sure I understand. She posted a TED talk or she posted another person’s TED talk on her website?

  • katie k

I am so confused. Is anyone else confused? Was it her TED talk? Someone else’s? What was this TED talk about? Why was posting a TED talk controversial? And what did they mean when they said “Putting random English words in with Chinese is acting like a pro, right?” ’cause I clicked the link and didn’t see any English at all. I want to understand, I really do!
