Shu Qi Deletes Weibo Microblog After Chinese Netizens Attack

Shu Qi, aka Hsu Chi.

A recent public argument between Chinese martial arts film stars Vincent Zhao and Donnie Yen over the upcoming movie Special Identity has resulted in another famous Chinese movie star Shu Qi deleting her Sina Weibo microblog account with over 10 million followers.

She had posted on her Weibo support for Donnie Yen, leading to Chinese netizens who supported Zhao to attack her over her history of softcore pornography, before she had achieved mainstream success. In response, she deleted all of her microblog posts and unfollowed everyone she had been following, quitting the microblogging service.

From Tianya:

Shu Qi quits Weibo, let me say something in defense of Shu Qi

First, I am not a fan of Shu Qi .

Second, I support Uncle Zhao.

Finally, I am just a passerby who like going on Tianya.

Main text:

That this conflict between two men has for no reason at all pulled in a woman, I am a bit speechless.

I know Shu Qi’s photographs were not posted in retribution by those supporting Zhao, but had been dug up by others long ago.

I also know Shu Qi is someone who became famous through taking off her clothes, who relied on nudity to get into the industry.

I also know that since she’s gone naked, she should be prepared for people to dig [those photos] out at any time, even though she has already worked hard to put her clothes on back one at a time [worked hard to change her past image].

But I want to say that those people who keep using such-and-such photo to attack her, can’t you be a little forgiving?

She did make mistakes, and she should bear the consequences.

But has she not? When the media interviews her, they have never shied away from bringing up her past, and hasn’t she faced it all?

Her clothes were not all put back on in a split second [metaphor for improving her past image/reputation], she’s been putting them on for many years, so has she really not paid the price for the past?

She actually has never completely broken away from the image of a star that started with nudity, but you guys insist on digging up her past photographs to again rip off her clothes one by one?

Some people say her deleting her Weibo messages one by one and deleting who she follows is her trying to get sympathy and whatever.

I can only say it doesn’t matter, she is just a woman trying her hardest to break free from the past.

Why can’t you all be a little more forgiving in your treatment of her? Who has not made mistakes?

“Goddess” was not a title she gave herself, and if she were to dare say she is a goddess, I would spit all over her face, but why are all of these things blamed on her?

Isn’t Sola Aoi that you gossipy male comrades love so much also a goddess in many men’s hearts?

And those talking about conspiracy theories and PR crisis, don’t you think your imaginations are a little too abundant?

Every person, more or less have one or two things they don’t want to face and want to avoid.

Just like a petty thief who does jail time, comes out, works hard to make a living, trying to break away from the past, and someone says, “Oh, he used to be a thief.” He might lower his head and bear it.

But if someone says, “Look, he’s a shameless thief.” Do you guys think these two things are the same?

One should not be so harsh. Making things difficult for a woman is not impressive, there’s no need to brandish the morality cudgel every day bashing this and bashing that, are people not allowed to change after making mistakes?

Okay, I’m done, flees.

Many of Shu Qi’s past nude pornographic photos were dug up and shared by Chinese netizens. Here are a few (sorry, guys, censored) examples:

Example of Shu Qi's old nude photos that Chinese netizens have dug up and abused her with.

Example of Shu Qi's old nude photos that Chinese netizens have dug up and abused her with.

What more, an old song by Shu Qi titled 献身 xian shen ["to be devoted to" or "to give oneself to"] featuring her moaning suggestively was also dug up, amusing many netizens:

Comments from Tianya:

我爱大鼻孔:

If every person had to bear the burden of their past mistakes on their backs for all their lives, unable to change how others see them no matter how hard they tried, then life would truly be too miserable. A mistake carried for the rest of one’s life.

被窝里放屁自已闻 :

As a member of the spectating masses, I will quietly say that the bigger and more messy it gets, the better, as all my entertainment recently comes from the stupid shit in entertainment circles. Jia you! Various celebrities! Let the gossip come even more fiercely!

21762596:

Having been on many different sections [sub-forums] and ultimately often staying on the Gossip [sub-forum], the main reason is for the entertainment. But tonight is the first time I feel compelled to get away from the Gossip [section]. Entertainment Gossip, Entertainment Gossip, I want to ask you guys, are you all still here just for entertainment? Or is this kind of perverse [behavior] the only thing that entertains you now?? I trust not many people are like this, right? All of this is probably someone intentionally manipulating things, right? Then so easily becoming this kind of tool, the feeling should be of disgust and loathing. So what entertainment is there to speak of?

我爱大鼻孔 :

Those saying you have to pay, how much longer does Shu Qi have to pay? How is she supposed to pay? If she has made porn films, does that mean she has to make porn all her life?

六月水电五局:

This is what she chose. Having done that kind of thing in the past, she should be prepared for it now. What she herself chose, she has to pay the price for.

透明传说:

Enough…I saw people posting Shu Qi’s pictures before these two men’s dispute.

马甲真伟大:

I very innocently want to ask the louzhu one thing: Why must netizens be forgiving of this woman? Why should we? The photos she took were for other people to look at, and now that everyone has seen them, isn’t this her original intention? Why should netizens be forgiving/lenient towards her? Whether netizens are willing to be forgiving or not, isn’t that the choice of netizens themselves? What business is it of the louzhu?? Who do you think you are, that you think you can write so much and arrogantly lecture netizens?

我是多无聊啊:

So what if she deleted her microblog, what’s the big deal?
If she really doesn’t want to face [the criticisms/abuse], then she should just get out of the entertainment industry.
Who does she think she is, deleting her WB pretending to be pitiful and innocent.

If in her photos she truly has exposed everything, then there isn’t anything that isn’t exposed.
If its like that and her fans still say she’s so pure and innocent, then I’m truly speechless.

我是多无聊啊:

Have to face it even if she doesn’t want to.
If she’s willing to do it, then she has to accept being it.
Originally I had no feelings about this.

Now that Shu Qi is pretending to be the victim deleting her WB
trying to pin the blame on Zhao, pin the blame on TY [Tianya], well that’s just too wrong.
This kind of person who isn’t willing to take responsibility for her actions shouldn’t be in the entertainment industry. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

小猪美女2010:

I’m more curious about just who she offended that someone wants to punish her… It can only be said that although a lot of people had known what she had filmed in order to make herself known, they didn’t know the scale was so big…and what more, it wasn’t as if she was forced into it…

Comments from Liba:

伊卡露:

Sigh, being in the entertainment industry, how can she be so emotionally weak?

的笃:

I don’t understand why those people on Tianya refuse to leave her alone.

张江碧云:

We can say she took herself too seriously.

o_henry:

She hasn’t denied that part of her past, just that its the past. Who wants to be gossiped about all day~?
Don’t say that since she filmed/took those photos in the past, she ought to have the ability to bear it. One can’t endure Tianya no matter how strong one is emotionally.
Even criminals are allowed to reform and start over, allowed to get back up after falling down, whereas she hasn’t even broken the law and committed a crime, it was just films.

芬迪小水库:

Saw the pictures, the person who exposed them truly is unkind. Those who went to prison and came out, society gives them a chance to reform, but when a woman makes a past mistake, how come we don’t give her a chance?

Everyone already knows this was how she made a name for herself, and now people are publicizing these kind of photographs over something that doesn’t really have anything to do with her, just what kind of mentality is that…?

Just because you took off your clothes before, does it mean you can’t put them back on one by one ever again?

嘟乐香蕉:

Shu Qi has a lot of power behind her, still standing without falling all these years despite the being known as a sex goddess, the people she works with all being big stars, that’s not easy at it is. But however glorious, one can’t escape the facts of the past, and this actually can be a lesson for children, that some mistakes can’t be made~

wywzzz:

Shu Qi’s acting is really good, and I think her appearance is very unique, that she’s a really good actress. I don’t like nor understand the behavior of those crazy people who like to pick at scars.

淘到便宜货:

I think I’ve gotten an idea of what this is all about… Shu Qi I generally quite like…how did it come to this? Sigh, this entertainment industry, so chaotic.

无大志无理想:

This poor woman, having worked so hard to put her clothes back on one by one, overnight they are all ripped clean off by the internet.

What do you think? Do you feel sorry for Shu Qi? Is it wrong of netizens to criticize and judge her for her past? Do you think the Tianya post is reasonable? Or arrogant for criticizing other netizens?

Does anyone know what Chinese porn is like? In america, all the porn is made by Jews, bc they are a degenerate and disgusting people. Then again, I’ve seen Jap porn with women shitting on surf boards and getting enemas. Is chink porn as dirty as Jap porn?

  • Xiongmao

Shu Qi is sexier than all Chinese women put together. Also (not saying she’s Oscar material) she’s actually a decent actress.

    • http://www.chinawhisper.com/ Peter

We should have a open mind and allow someone to have some mistakes.

      • mouse

Why is porn even considered a “mistake”? …Fucking jesus freaks

        • anon

To be fair to Jesus freaks, it doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with Christianity or religion but essentially a common human moral value that is critical of those who sell sex. All around the world, prostitution may be the world’s oldest profession but uniformly a reviled and undesirable one by overall society.

Maybe it’s a male conspiracy to keep women down?

          • Josh

Not really, prostitution is considered nbd in lots of places that take a liberal view of sex.

        • Rawlie

          Mouse… I lol-ed!

I’ve been on the Macau ferry a few times with Shu Qi, when she was making that Rom-Com with Andy Lau. She’s really hot and quite pleasant in real life. Happy to chat and sign autographs.

        • donscarletti

I wouldn’t marry a woman who’s been done for money on camera, simply because I wouldn’t give my life to a woman in exchange for something that has at one point been for sale in exchange for currency on the open market.

However this kind of porn is nothing like that. She’s just showing the body that she was born with, she’s not inserting anything anywhere or doing anything particularly sexually involved, maybe opening her labia a little bit in two of the shots. This is really closer to FHM/男人装 than it is to hardcore pornography.

I have this whole series on my hard disc because I think they are fantastic. I do not think any less of her because of these wonderful pictures.

          • Marshal

But would you marry a woman who had sex for free on camera?
Or a woman that had sex, but neither on camera nor for money?
If yes, then wouldn’t you be giving your life to a woman in exchange for something that had at one point been given away for free?
Sorry, totally not trying to be an asshole, just some interesting thoughts that came up while reading your comment.

          • donscarletti

Yes to both I guess, as long as I wasn’t her boyfriend/fiancée at the time. I’d still have a strong preference against it, but it’s not a deal-breaker.

          • mouse

Not only would I marry a woman who had done porn, I would be fine marrying a woman who is actively doing porn as a career.

          • cc

Hahaha, when you get married you pay for your wife every day, no difference between a pornstar, prostitute or office worker, you want nookie then you have to pay in one form or another

          mouse,

so you would openly encourage your (future) daughter to go into the porn business when she gets 18? Or would you prefer her to do other things or maybe go studying?

What would you think if your son had sex with LOTS of women before being married?

Im dying to hear your response to this! :)

those two don’t have to be mutually exclusive

    Hypocrits~!!!
Why criticize someone who has made the right turn after doing wrong?
Why not criticize the women who are actually still in the pornography business?

    • but what’s wrong with porn?

      • mr. weiner

I wouldn’t want any of my nieces to do it as it is a degrading and risky industry. Would you want anyone you cared about to do porn? I don’t think so.
I think Shu Qi made her choices realistically and used it to get where she is now. However unlike the US where you are celebrated for doing this [Paris Hilton, Kim Kardassian et al] In Asia you’d be forever damned, by the same people no doubt who choked their chickens over your pictures.

        • If it’s an adult who I care about, then It’s none of my business what they chose to do. Shuqi’s nude pictures are not degrading. They’re beautiful.

          • mr. weiner

            Yes……very……uh…….beautiful……..indeed……uhhhhhh!

          • Marshal

I totally agree. A pornographic image is just a photograph; it doesn’t have any inherent connotations. The viewer of the image decides for himself how to interpret it. It can be appreciated as a pleasing visual stimulus, or it can be criticized as whatever some people criticize porn as.

      • My Name is Lee

How would you feel if you found an old magazine with your mother in it posing totally naked… or as said before, how would you feel if your (future) daughter gets into the porn business.

        • The Dude

I’d personally make sure I was receiving royalties to it.

    • anon

I think part of the reason is that some people see it as a shortcut to success, and people don’t like that (even if they hypocritically would do it themselves if they could get away with it). It’s contempt mixed with envy. They want to bring her down because they felt she exploited something and got where she was not from her own “morally legitimate” efforts but through “immorally legitimate” (selling sex, using connections, nepotism, corruption, etc.) methods.

And people DO criticize the women who are actually still in the porn and sex industry. But they’re not going to get the attention Shu Qi gets obviously, because they’re not celebrities that many people recognize.

    • Andy

“Why criticize someone who has made the right turn after doing wrong?
Why not criticize the women who are actually still in the pornography business?”

It isn’t as necessary to criticize the ones who are still in the “business”, because everyone already knows that they are the lowest of the low.

But those who think they can be forgiven after “making the right turn”, certainly must be criticized, not so much for their own sake, as for the sake of those who haven’t made the same mistake yet, but might be considering it after seeing someone get away with it. The criticism is necessary for deterring those people from thinking that they can make some easy money by engaging in degeneracy, and then be forgiven and live a normal life like as if nothing happened.

In short, there is no Ctrl+Z button in life, and while those who already committed such mistakes are stuck with them forever, they can still serve as a useful tool for deterring others from walking in the same footsteps.

There is a saying in my country, “fools learn from their own mistakes, while smart people learn from the mistakes of others”.

one vagina more or less looks like another vagina. to see this woman’s vagina is nothing more than curiosity, no? What’s the big fucking deal?

      • donscarletti

Actually no, since humans have covered their genitals and monoandry has been so prevalent in human society for so long that vaginal shape has not been a selection criterion for evolutionary fitness for tens of millennia, probably since mankind started walking upright and the region became far less visible.

The upshot is, as with other non-evolutionary selectors, there is more variation within a given population of a women’s vulva than her face. Biometrically the difference in variance is is many-fold; subjectively, the human face is more easily recognisable by a mind that is hardwired to recognise it, but variations in the genital region are simply too vast to not register as unique and fascinating.

Shu Qi has an nice vagina, even by the standards of Chinese women who tend to have very attractive vaginas regardless of one’s personal taste of facial features, body type or skin tone.

        • Appalled@everything

I stand by my statement of them looking more or less the same. Do you see vaginas in cloud formations too?

  • eattot

    everybody knows she did porn….
if she can ignore all the insult give a smile, maybe better…
delete all insulte pretend nothing happened better…
some other actress also did porn, but some also gain dignity and happy family, they do not have to pretend as a virgin to get attention.
that famous one named 叶玉卿 even married a very rich amrican chinese, so what? but to be frank, the first i saw her in porn, i feel she can not be a porn star as for she looks so rich in chinese old acient fortune telling book way…hmm, maybe i have some potation to be a witch, hahaha!

    • anon

Do you think Shu Qi pretends to be a virgin though? Just like in the post, I think it should be obvious that Shu Qi has always been conscious about her past and the media never lets her forget it. I think she’s been taking the insults and smiling all this time, but there’s only so much a person can take, and online mobs can be particularly unforgiving (due to anonymity and such).

The tone of the Tainya article reeked of moralistic BS. And the netizines who criticized her by bringing up her past are all hypocrites.

    • anon

The word 宽容 isn’t really “forgiven” by itself. “Forgiving” is better but its also a mix of tolerance, lenience, acceptability, generosity, etc. The idea is that they could be less critical.

I don’t see how the post was moralistic BS. All the poster did was appeal to the haters’ sense of fairness, to give Shu Qi the same chance to reinvent herself that criminals are given.

Of course, most people don’t tend to give criminals a second chance either, as long as they know about that criminal history.

Who cares if she did porn? I don’t know why the Chinese demand these actresses to be virginal and pure, they are just people. Besides she gained her fame no differently then probably 99 % of the chinese actresses, she screwed her way to the top the only diff between her and other actresses is that she was on film doing it. People need to get off their moral high horse. On a side note, am I the only one that finds her face weirdly spaced apart and alien like?

This is ridiculous, she got into the industry with porn. Don’t continue in the industry if you can’t take a jab at your past mistakes.

Is it me, or do you get the feeling that a lot of Chinese are seriously repressed emotionally, sexually and mentally?

That’s the vibe I’m getting anyways.

How do they cope with having sex themselves, I wonder?

  • Appalled@everything

pretty childish. So she took a side. Some people didn’t like the side she took, so they mindlessly attack her and character bash for stuff she did years ago? Wonder how things would have gone had she taken the other guy’s side.. being praised and simultaneously forgiven for those past actions by the same idiots who slander her here no doubt.

  • terroir

A bad trait regarding Chinese logic in dealing with arguments is face; in this case, it’s to avoid logic and reason and focus upon one’s status – the higher one’s status is, the more correct and righteous they are.

As seen lately with 衣脱兔, her reply to some anonymous question is “who are you?” as if to say “What right do you have to say that?” Reasons aren’t heeded so much as one’s status.

So. Shu Qi made the bad choice in getting involved in some celebrity spat because everyone knows her “secret” and has come to exploit this as her “mistake” rather than just some aspiring actress who could only make the best of the opportunities afforded to her.

She’s a whore not because she once took her clothes off, but that she would dare think that her opinion mattered.

The way I figure it, Chinese do really fucked up things all the time, to one another, to their family members, their spouses, their colleagues, their employees, their children, their friends and their fellow Chinese. Now, I’m not getting into what they do or why, but the fact that Chinese act so high-and-mighty, holier-than-thou and so excessively judgmental when someone else’s poor actions and choices are the focus of discussion is what really stands out in this society.
The insecurity that a few other posters bring up as a serious flaw in Chinese seems to be behind this mindless attacking, judging, hating and abusing of anyone for anything.
The insecurity of knowing that they themselves as human beings contribute nothing to their society. That they themselves are worthless, bloodsucking, dishonest, shallow and selfish individuals whose only method of avoiding and denying their own state is to constantly put the focus on others.
    Constantly.
Constantly finding ways to make other people look like scum so that they can try to pretend that they don’t despise themselves worse. That self-loathing human condition never looked at, only pushed aside while they condemn others constantly, for their actions.
An addition to this, I believe, is this absolutely redundant and askew desire and need to retain/maintain/establish ‘face’.
Anything that another Chinese person does which is perhaps ill-advised or even completely terrible is not just an individual error or absolute fuck-up on that person’s behalf, but an all-out affront to the very nation and its core of supremacy and majesty.
‘For this person to have wronged, means they have wronged me and every other person in China because their actions cast this glorious nation in a bad light, and my duty as a Chinese is to condemn them openly for that.’ Thus also resulting in a kinda temporary patriotic high. Though a proxy at best.
The exception to this though is when the targeted person’s wrongful actions are as a direct response to the problems of Chinese society itself and their shitty life. In which case the individual is immediately labelled crazy and unstable, their crimes or actions painted as ‘amazing’, ‘unbelievable’ and ‘shocking’, when really it is no shock that people are miserable, and it is very easy to believe people all over China are ‘this’ close to snapping. So people openly pity that person, look down their noses at them or attack them and vilify them and yet so very little of the underlying problem is actually discussed or addressed or improved because deep down Chinese people are terrified of change and lazy to try new things that could better their nation and actually ‘develop’ China.
The harmony of the nation is so completely out of tune and the nation is so very utterly discordant. It’s quite depressing.

    • Capt. WED

too long did not read. I’m sure you are partially right (I mean of course right). You do realize that online mob attacks happen in the west too right?

      • mr. weiner

        The human condition mate.
BTW. I was reading somewhere “Wednesday’s child is full of woe”.

    • typingfromwork

True enough, only generalising it for all Chinese people is a bit of a stretch. Holier than thou moralising hypocrites exist everywhere, just look at the online reaction from religious fundies in America whenever something like abortion or gay rights is reported.

There were plenty of Chinese comments above that defended and supported Shu Qi. The action of the trolls that led to her to close her online account were despicable, but this sort of thing happens to stars all over the world. They are in the public light so sometimes they’re gonna get shit thrown at them. Lord knows death threats are issued to Hollywood celebrities on a regular basis, especially if they are gay or are a minority. Can you extrapolate from this that all Amercians are somehow incipient blood thirsty murderers filled with jealousy and self loathing? Nope. Most Americans I’ve met have been pretty nice.

tl;dr internet harrasment of celebrities exist everywhere. It’s not big, and it’s not clever, but it does happen a lot.

      • Appalled@everything

Hey there tfw, gotta admit those are good points and well said. Definitely agree about the rampant fundamentalist conservatism among republicans going on in the states right now. That shit is five shades of cuckoo-crazy. And for sure I don’t mean to generalize all Chinese in my above post. Just almost all hehe. kidding.

        • typingfromwork

No problems. Fundies everywhere are the same, quick to judge and they never budge. I definitely recognise some people in China that are like the way you’ve described. Thankfully that’s not true of all the people. Well, not entirely, anyway.

    • Bill

“‘For this person to have wronged, means they have wronged me and every other person in China because their actions cast this glorious nation in a bad light, and my duty as a Chinese is to condemn them openly for that.’ Thus also resulting in a kinda temporary patriotic high. Though a proxy at best.”

Has it ever occurred to you that the reason they view this as an affront to all Chinese is because people like you lump and generalize all Chinese as the same?

  • typingfromwork

Internet harrasment of a celebrity… happens all over the world. Pretty fucked if it had gotten to the level that the girl had to close all of her accounts, though.

Good to see netizens with brains defending her.

Each one of us is entitled of one’s opinion, why attack some one if
their opinion differs from yours ?

      Guys, get a life !!!

  • cc

Bit skinny for me, but I’d still do her, anyway what’s wrong with having starred in porn films, we’re all sluts one way or another, male and female.

  • http://www.kungfuology.com/andybest Andy Best

The original post is a classic example of someone who’s so far gone into misogyny that they even do it while trying to ‘defend’ a woman and are completely unaware all the time.

The reason Shu Qi publicly never shies away from ‘her past’ or apologizes for it is that she has done nothing wrong. She has nothing to make up for. Despite the poster pointing out the obvious double standard with Sola Aoi fans, they are also deeply prejudiced.

A woman can do what ever she likes with her own body. And, if we feel the industry, system or situation was exploitative then we should criticize that system. People who don’t like the HK ‘Cat 3′ industry should reserve their ire for directors like Wong Jing.

    • anon

I’m certain you’re projecting. Shu Qi’s own attitudes towards her past do not suggest she feels completely comfortable with it and feel there is nothing wrong with it. Remember, this is a girl that has worked really hard to get away from that work and image. This isn’t really about anyone telling a woman what they can or can’t do with their own body. It’s just people judging others, often harshly and unrelentingly, in mobs, online, behind the veil of anonymity, out of envy, insecurity, and simple selfish mischief.

    • Appalled@everything

Give me Sora Aoi over Shu Qi any day of the week!

  • dim mak

    Pointless debate is pointless

There’s nothing wrong with posing nude or doing porn

China needs a legit porn industry. Would be a very profitable sector. Would also stop people flooding to HK and opening softcore photoshoots disguised as “art” or “glamour”. C’mon people. It’s the 21st century.

    Also: Donnie Yen is superior.

    • kazuki

      身体发肤,受之父母,不敢毁伤,孝之始也

“China needs a legit porn industry.” lol. what the hell you know about china? about chinese culture? about how important it is still in Chinese daily life nowadays?

maybe some works in your country but pls stop ignorantly thinking it is universally applied to any other country. why not show a little bit respect?

tired of all that “selling body for money is nothing wrong” crap here

      • GodsHammer

There is more whoring in ANY small Chinese city than I’ve ever seen in my life prior to China. SO, the selling bodies part is already here. Secondly there is a need for some entertainment for the 50million ‘extra’ males in this country. SO…either give them some yellow movies to watch and some lube or make hookers LEGAL…

      • dim mak

        Probably more than you do

What is funny is that she has probably done less dirty stuff than most actresses behind closed doors. In mainland China the only way to make it big is to be the “girlfriend” of the director/producer/official in the Chinese film department.

  • erguotouplease

I get it she is very attractive and sexy to a man, but whoever says she is sexier than all the chinese women put together is obviously an idoit .
To me personally , sure she has a super hot body . and I love watching her walk the red carpet . but her face is just not that pretty , actually not good looking at all .(somehow she reminds me of tracy mcgrady)
    About the pron thing.
it’s nothing like FHM. it’s not just nudity. it is not softcore .
She was not forced into this industry ,she was not really short of money . using her own words in an interview ,she just thought this thing was fun .so she was aware of what she was doing . and clearly she wanted to use this shortcut to help her to promote her acting career . it woeked ! so if she is sure fame is what she want then congratulations ! but this is china ! every profession has risks (even you’re a very influential governor you might be kicked out or find yourself as a prisoner someday because you picked the wrong side.). let alone pron industry . your actions will have consequences . so while you are enjoying the spotlight you should know there will be critics and commets. Im not justifying those who masturbate while watching her body and call her a whore at the same time . im just saying the overpubulicity is an unavoidable side effect along with the money and awards to a star . its part of the contract ! if you are not ashamed of yourself then the deleting “weibo” one by one is just tooooooo pretentious . and if you are ashamed of your history then I guess you should already expecting to pay for your ignorant youth . all in all everybody has his own shit to deal with no matter who you are .

    • lxpatterson

      Oh man! T-Mac? That’s hilarious!

      • erguotouplease

i mean it . and now you will find the resemblance too . ><

    • donscarletti

It is just nudity and it is just softcore, given there was no actual sexual penetration.

You should look up the pictures, see that I am correct and then have a damn good wank, it will make you feel better. You seem like you need one.

Also, she has a lovely face, it’s just not to everyone’s taste. I think big lips look fantastic and her other set of lips are fantastic too, see my previous point.

      • erguotouplease

obviously we have a very different opinion about softcore and lovely face .
        she is all yours.

        • donscarletti

    Song of the article:
“[That's why the] Lady is a tramp” by Frank Sinatra.
Or “Xian shen” by Shu Qi.
I prefer the latter as I haven’t heard such suggestive moaning in a song since Little Lulu sang “Yes sir, I can boogie”.

  • slimboyinhk

Why people are saying she made a mistake is dumbfounding. She is where she is today because of what she did and that my friends, is not a mistake. It was a very well calculated maneuver that got her started in what turned out to be a very well respected acting career.

  • pc

you’re all carrying on about whether you would marry this girl or someone like her but the fact is, most of you that are hiding behind your computer screens would be lucky to get a girl that looks anything even half as good looking as this girl.
it’s funny that you all can judge people like this when deep down inside, half of you have done much worse. my guess is most of you are paying for sex in one way or another. whether it’s an LV handbag or an expensive dinner…we all pay for it in the end.
those of you that say you would never marry a girl like this is probably because a girl like this wouldnt bother to even sneeze in your direction.
grow up and spend less time worry about what other people do with their personal lives.

Whatever she did, she must be ready to face the music. Personally, I am not against it but I do not support it. No one should judge if it is right or wrong, the porn industry has a demand thus there will always be supply. As for those who dig out her past just because she supports another actor, really childish and “underhand”. Such actions can only be from those who are really low down. As for whether how her Children feel if they see their mother nude, why should we care, she did it and she should be ready to face it.

  • http://sites.google.com/site/theappleheadestates Anita B

We are all hypocrites. He without sin, cast the first stone. We are casting boulders at Shu Qi. We are showing her no mercy and we are being unjust. NO. She should not have to pay for her mistakes all her life. NO. She should not have to deal with people throwing her past in her face or holding it against her. That’s why it is called the “past” It is the past and it is over and done with. It’s not right and it’s not fair to crucify her simple because she is in support of Donnie. I personally like all these actors, but Donnie is my favorite.

It’s not about taking sides. We are so fickle in our feelings and opinions about this issue. It’s about what is professionally right and fair. In the entertainment business, everything is subject to change in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye. If Vincent was so unhappy with the changes that was going on with the film, he should have just backed out of the film instead of letting his concerns escalate to the point where they had to release him. His manager should have found him another project to work on instead of him bad mouthing the production and Donnie. Being an actor is a job. You find the acting job that best fits your career goals. This obviously ended up not being a good fit for Donnie and Vincent to work together. Maybe somebody should have said, “This is not working. Let’s end this amicably and try to work together on some future project.” Vincent started the conflict by openly complaining. Otherwise, This conflict would not have gone public. Once things cool off, all parties involved will see that they could have handled this conflict in a much better way. And fans and supporters of each actor need to stop fueling the conflict with vicious online attacks.

what the fuck ??? how is we ? i don’t even know this bitch ! even she was gang banged in front of a camera, who really gives a fuck ?

I anyway never understood how actors, singers and models can have fans ? its just a job. I watch a movie, i listen to music and like to dress well, thats it. Why i should care about the background of the actor and his private life, or who the gay or bitch is walking on the runway presenting clothes. Guess this is the problem of the simple minded common folks. They don’t have an own life, so they care about other people lives….fuck, this artists live from that shit, its called publicity….I could bet that if no one would talk about her, she would anonymous post her own porn on the internet just to bring her name back into the ballpark….this people are as sick as their fans…

What is wrong with you people? This issue affects her career, family and friends. And all you can do is write perverted and reprobated comments about the photos? This was her past not her present nor her future. Yet, In this present day, there is so much sexual immorality across the world that it makes me sick to my stomach and we don’t even blink an eye at it. It’s the norm, it’s acceptable, it is exalted and held high. We brag about our sexual exploits. And we are attacking her for some photos?
