From ifeng, Mop, & Tianya:

Graduate from a well-known university bought wrong train ticket, becomes homeless on the streets of Nanchang

Who would have thought that this beggar was actually a recent graduate from the China University of Political Science and Law? What’s the story behind this university graduate? Yesterday evening, this reporter arrived at the Nanchang City No. 3 Hospital, and met this beggar. At the time, he was lying on the hospital bed getting an infusion, and just at this time, this beggar’s mother had rushed over from Fujian.

A Nanchang City police officer told this reporter that around 10:00 on the 12th, their station received a report that a beggar was on the verge of death was lying on the sidewalk near the Zhanqian West Rd. and Qianjin Rd. After the police rushed to the scene, the man was immediately taken to the hospital for medical attention. When boarding the police car, the police discovered some unusual things. Though the man’s body was very dirty, the skin underneath the dirt when wiped away was very white, unlike a long-term homeless beggar…

At the hospital, the beggar hesitated many times before finally giving his name, and the police discovered by chance that the man is actually a China University of Political Science and Law graduate.

Yesterday morning, after receiving a call from the police, the man’s mother rushed from Fujian to Nanchang that night. Through the recounting of the man’s mother, the police came to understand that the man’s surname is Huang [complete name not given], is from Fujian, and has always been very introverted. After graduating from the China University of Political Science and Law, Huang hoped to return to Fujian and find work. However, because he had left hurriedly, he had forgotten his mobile phone, and accidentally purchased a train ticket headed towards Nanchang. After arriving in Nanchang, he only had several tens of yuan left. In order to survive, he searched everywhere for work, but because of being unable to communicate face to face, he did not find any work. Without a source of income, Huang became homeless in Nanchang, and as a result of the scorching weather and eating moldy food, Huang collapsed at the Zhanqian West Rd. and Qianjin Rd. juncture sidewalk, and was luckily discovered by passer-bys who called the police.

My god, how does a prestigious university produce such a bookworm? Unable to figure out the simplest things, sigh, what a sin…

Brilliant! Not even qualified to be a beggar! Exam-oriented education, a danger to people and country…

Take a look, this is what the students are like at our prestigious universities, this is our modern day education.

天津市网友:

I wonder if the chancellor/dean of the China University of Political Science and Law is embarrassed after reading this report?

北京市网友:

He must be second generation poor [child of poor parents], not second generation wealthy and even less second generation government official.
Nowadays wen even students of prestigious universities fall back into such situations, it appears that the power of education to enable one to climb the ladder of social stratification is now weak.

广东省深圳市网友:

The ultimate insult to China’s education system.

Could he not have known to call his family or other people to ask for help? I doubt the authenticity of this piece of news.

江苏省连云港市网友:

University students don’t know how to save themselves, so how can they save others, or save society! Sigh…

江苏省南京市网友:

China University of Political Science and Law is not the main reason for causing this matter to happen, the real cause is single children!

北京市网友:

I think the authenticity of this piece of news is worth plenty of suspicion. Even if a China University of Political Science and Law student becomes homeless, he would still have a shirt.

Don’t buy the wrong train ticket. chinaSMACK personals.
