The old man in the video is Chu Chu’s paternal grandfather describing what happen, how he found Chu Chu bloody and without hands, that he called the police, and where he found Chu Chu’s hands in the outdoor toilet/outhouse inside the excrement. The grandfather reached in to find the hands.
The mother admitted that she chopped off Chu Chu’s hands. The father in the video explains that his wife suspect he was having an affair but says there is no such thing. The grandfather says the mother is not mentally ill at all.
The mother was at the hospital, but later disappeared. Her family says she is mentally ill and she has been found in a mental hospital in Wuhan.

How did happen that mentally ill person adopt a child? She isn’t responsible for herself, how she can be responsible for a child. Kids biological parents also bear a guilt. They should check a family before they gave the kid. I suppose that biological family is poor, with more than one child and that they thought that boy will have better life in other family.

In most cases of adoption it is not the responsibility of the birth parents to find or screen any suitable families. It is up to an orphanage or state Human Services office to find an acceptable family where the child will be safe. Obviously this did not happen here but I think the blame lies on these institutions for not learning about this mother, and not on the biological parents.

I don’t think it’s a question of whether or not she is mentally ill. Mentally sound people simply don’t hack off their own child’s appendages. It’s clear she has mental problems, the issue is what are they going to do about it?
Crazy indeed but I am a bit suspecious of the pictures. The “Horrible scene of the crime” shows a small table with blood on it but where is the blood on the floor? Secondly the picture supposedly showing the two cut off hands in the floor. Who took it if it’s real? The grandfather who found it? Having to take care of the kid and fishing the hands out of the toilet but still has time to take a couple of photos? The police who arrived? Even the police here isn’t that stupid,, getting the hands and the kid to the hospital asap is naturally the most important thing. The evidence is already contaminated so there is no reason to hold everything up to take pictures of the hands on the floor. The X-ray pic is clearly manipulated too.
And why is there a picture of “Chu Chu’s painful expression?” Did the grandfather decide to snap a few photos from his iphone before calling the police?

I seriously doubt anyone would be stupid enough to pose the chopped off hands for a picture first before delivering them to the hospital. I checked the original Mop post and the caption does indeed say two hands but I’m wondering if the netizen posting it just got ahead of himself/herself.
The picture with the stool looks bloody but there isn’t any blood on the floor surrounding it. However, the stool could’ve simply been moved from the original location of the chopping. That would explain the blood on the stool but not the floor.
