Then it would be much appreciated if you would stop doing the same of others. I don’t like to be lumped in with every other Chinese netizen but I recognize that stereotypes usually have a grain of truth to them. And that is also why I am proud to be born and raised American.
Unless I misunderstood, this was a non-incident until the TVXQ fans went crazy and said some really pathetic self-hating things. Even the Japanese fans asked you to respect your own country, how pathetic is that? I just have to assume that normal people aren’t hanging around forums.

Are you part of the majority of foreigners that judge Chinese as a whole with a few examples? It’s sort of excusable for westerners to think of Chinese as brainless robots, if these westerners only read mainstream sound-bite news. It’s also sort of understandable for Chinese to view westerners so stereotypically. There is only a handful of westerners in China. However I assume you are not one of these ignorant mainstream people, right? Since you have long exposure to China and its people, I don’t think it’s excusable anymore for you to still do it just because “majority of Chinese” do it. Just like a Chinese living in western country shouldn’t still view all westerners as foreign devils.

In fact, Chinese who have stayed in the west would view westerners even more as foreign devils. It is a huge majority of those who have never been there who think that the west is a paradise, and that life is better there, the people are more well behaved and more civilised there.

Why the comment about Africa? (i.e. I’d rather go to Africa).
