Guangzhou ‘Kung Fu Master’ Fights Young Man On Bus

From NetEase:

A bus rider is getting his thirty seconds of fame. This time, there’s not only the use of profanity, it’s gone straight to the fists. On noon of the day before yesterday, a video clip called “Guangzhou Bus Uncle” was posted on numerous popular websites. In the video, a Cantonese speaking “uncle” and a young man sitting next to him fight due to the lack of air conditioning in the bus.

In the moving bus, two men suddenly started to shout at each other. Within seconds it turned into a fight on board. Nicknamed “Bus Uncle” by netizens, an older man displayed kung fu moves akin to the Wing Chun style, gaining the upper hand on the younger man. Uncle’s moves are aggressive, and netizens comment that he must have been trained in martial arts. Fortunately they had only been fighting for less than 20 seconds before they were separated by passengers. But the Uncle’s rage was not appeased, and shouted at the younger man to “get off and fight”. The young man quickly got off the bus and fled.

“He was angry that the driver didn’t turn on the a/c, I tried to placate him and he hit me.” Afterward, the Bus Uncle was still angry and described his reason to fight to the rest of the passengers. According to the automated voiceovers in the video, the incident happened near “Zhoumen” Station.

The problem of buses’ a/c being turned off has kindled agreement among netizens. “We paid for air conditioned buses, why wouldn’t they turn it on?”

Reportedly this is due to a “Gas-Saving Prize”. Currently many transportation companies have this policy. If drivers consume over the gas usage limit, they are fined, otherwise, they are given bonuses. As a result, many drivers turn off the a/c to save gas. But according to policies, if the temperature is over 26 degrees Celsius and the driver doesn’t turn on a/c, passengers can dial 96900 to report him.

Comments from NetEase:

孤中一叶:

Seems like the younger one is very innocent. If it was a fight for real, the older one doesn’t stand a chance.

so__numb:

The kid looks rather honest, doesn’t seem like he’s been in a lot of fights. Should avoid meeting this kind of old people.

trbio:

Fuck Guangzhou. The city that I hate most.

jia.qingxu!:

If it was [up to] me, one of them has to die fighting. Then the buses in the entire country would turn on the a/c.

powerdongzi:

The old comrade’s kung fu is amazing! The young man has a strong build, but the old comrade took him out with only one hand. These kung fu skills are enough to make “Singapore’s Number One Master Jet Li” beg for mercy. Inspires admiration among us!

就爱看图:

The young guy is too weak, he’s so tall and can’t even win against an uncle…

*sunny:

Listen carefully it’s the younger guy who used expletives first. The older one attacked because he couldn’t stand it. Of course attacking was overreacting.

兴宁狂人:

I despise old guys from Guangzhou the most…

dong_ixi:

Those of you that don’t know Cantonese and “hate Guangzhou” stop your ignorant commenting. The young one complained that the a/c wasn’t cold enough. Uncle told him: don’t be so ill tempered, the driver has to drive. The guy started to use profane words, Uncle then started to hit him.
ps: I really hate all of those “hate Guangzhou” fucks.

You idiot, it has everything to do with saving gas. Why else do you think that those electric bikes never turn on their lights at night? To save gas of course! You have so much to learn about how smart the Chinese are. It’s also why driver’s always drive with their high beams, because contrary to popular thought, it saves gas! Stupid Americans.

      says:

The air conditioning compressor is a parasitic loss on the engine. It takes more fuel to overcome the additional loss. Air conditioners on buses can consume up to 1/3 of the available horsepower because of the large area in the bus, the number of people and the constantly opening doors. There is a smaller but measurable fuel consumption change in automobiles with the AC on.

The young man doesn’t look so young. He is even sporting a flat top, which possibly suggests he was in the military. He should have been able to defend himself.

    Question
Has anyone actually seen police arrest people for fighting in China?
From my experience the policeman/men are gawking just like everyone else.

The young guy was either a) too fuckin’ scared or b) trying to respect the older guy and holding back.

Either way, he’s a pussy. Old people like this DO NOT deserve respect in any shape or form. I don’t like China’s rule of respecting all old people just because of their age. There good people and bad people on this planet of ALL AGES. Some of the worst people that I’ve met here in China are old people.

There is no martial arts involved in the old man’s “style” – he just swung his arm back and forth, windmill punch style, using the weight of whatever he was carrying in his left to stabilize his balance each swing. He didn’t seem to connect very well either.

No one trained in the martial arts properly would fight like this. A disgrace. The young guy was just a straight up puss. Watch closely as he tries to connect body shots and still fails. Pathetic. If that old dude started throwing blows at me I’d straight up Roy Jones style merc his old ass. One shot to the chin and he’d be eaten out a straw for the next few months.

His martial arts was probably so incredibly well trained that he wanted to mask it…perhaps he thought the young man to be a worthy adversary and thought that hiding his true skill in Kung Fu was needed in order to catch the young man off guard. The young guy noticed the old man’s “inability” and backed off, as he was trained only to use his deadly warrior skill only when absolutely necessary. Had they both used the skill they definitely had (but successfully hid) the entire bus probably would have inexplicably burst into flames.

A Martial Arts expert who’s never been in a real fight would lose to a tough but untrained street fighter. But an untrained street fighter would lose to a Martial Arts expert who has experience as a street fighter. Here in Japan I’ve been to many dojos where I knew I could beat many of the never-been-in-a-real-fight blackbelts, except for the students of one dojo that is, the Kyokushinkai where every training session was like getting in a knock-down, drug-out street fight. Even the green belts could kick ass big time. It took 5 years of four 2.5 hour training sessions a week to even qualify for the Shodan (Black belt 1st level) test.

Kung Fu doesn’t work. Chinese people are weak as hell. Look at how poorly they do in Olympic wrestling, Boxing, Taekwondo and Judo. Name at least one decent Chinese boxer? Can you name at least one relevant Chinese MMA fighter? Bruce Lee was a movie star with 1/4th German ancestry. Jackie Chan and Jet Li are actors. They have yet to fight in a single sanctioned event. They would get destroyed by even C-level MMA fighter.

Look at China’s history. They lost all the time to smaller countries who did not use Kung Fu.
If Kung Fu was so effective, they should have beaten everyone. Especially when they outnumbered everyone by a significant margin. The only time China has ever won in a war was when they outnumbered the enemy 100 to 1. Ive experienced Chinese “kung fu” personally.

A few months ago, I got into a fight with 4 Chinese fruitcakes. I wasnt the least bit scared. They were all scrawny as hell, although one of them was 1-2 inches taller than me. But he must have weighed 150 pounds at the most. A fucking toothpick.

The fight went as followed. The tall coward who seemed to be the leader threw the first punch and missed. How the hell do you miss a cheap shot? I didnt even have my hands up or was expecting anything. I then punched the tall guy square on the jaw and knocked him out cold. One punch was all that it took. The moment I knocked him out, his 3 friends started fled. They didnt even bother to grab their unconscious friend. They just hightailed it out of there like a bunch of cowards.

    Typical Chinese mentality.

    1. Cowardice
    2. Cheap shots
    3. Gang up on a single guy with your friends.
    4. Run at the first sign of danger.
    5. Bullying people.
    6. No loyalty, no honor. If your friend is in danger, its best to run rather than to fight.

Ive never ever in all my time here or in New York city saw a Chinese person fight by himself. Its always the Chinese guy with ten of his friends against a single person.
Kung Fu doesn’t work…Look at how poorly [Chinese] do in Olympic wrestling, Boxing, Taekwondo and Judo.
So…if Kung Fu does work, its proof would be Chinese people doing better in other martial arts competitions??

No, I can’t name any Chinese MMA fighter, nor can I name MMA fighter of any other nationality, perhaps you are right there are very few Chinese, or perhaps you are pulling crap out of your ass, I wouldn’t know either way.

After challenging people to name MMA fighters, you then proceeded to name three actors, then pointed out they are actors and have not participated in sanctioned fights. That’s like me saying “can you name a famous boxer? and don’t say Silvester Stallone he is an actor”.

If Bruce Lee is only a movie star and not a fighter what does his ethnicity have to do with anything? Besides, his mom is 1/4 German 3/4 Chinese, his dad is Chinese, your grasp of fractions is about as impressive as your logic.

Martial arts relates to wars about as well as bonsai to horticulture.

Finally the story how you managed to beat up one scrawny Chinese guy and scared away his three friends. Even if this courageous internet tale is true, any cognizant person with a speck of common sense would know one isolated incident doesn’t say anything about Chinese people in general. However you managed to use these four peeople to work up a profile on 1.3 billion people, statistically that’s about as reliable as me taking you as an example and declare all Americans are retards.

Bruce Lee entered the Long Beach Karate tournament, and kicked everybody’s ass, that’s why the following year they invited him back for demonstration, you don’t ask someone to do that if they are just an actor.

If you think Kung Fu is weak, fight someone who is about the same level in terms of fitness and skill as yourself. It doesn’t take much to beat up children.

Maybe this old man has served his country when he was young, maybe he does taichi everyday at the park, or maybe he lifts blocks of cement as a construction worker to teach Mr. “Big mouth-No Balls” a behavioral lesson the hard way. Here’s a rough translation:

Old man: Get off the bus. I will tell your ‘elders’ (’yee see hing’ could be referring to an elder or an upperclassmen of sorts–basically someone in a position of authority over the young man) to change your bad behavior. Get off! Get off! I’m telling you to get off the bus now!

Young man: I don’t want to get off the bus to argue with you.

–Young man gets up because the old man kept incessantly pestering the young man to get off the bus. Now, old man gets up and starts pointing fingers–

Old man: You, you, you…what did you say?

–Young man pushes old man away. Old man responds by punching young man–

Old man: You better not hit me!

–Young man is blocking and continues to push old man away. Old man is now punching and kneeing the shit out of the young man–

Old man: I will kick (or stomp) you to death!

–Old man continues pummeling the young man until the crowd steps in to stop the old man from beating the young man–

Afterward, the old man basically explains to the crowd ‘his’ side of the story. If you’ve watched the video closely enough, you’ll notice that this didn’t start at the beginning. It probably started halfway through the argument or whatever that had upset the old man.

No matter how you look at it, the old man hitting the young man seems unjustified even if the young man made a crude comment or an expletive to the old man.
